Lost my #%@in' keys! '77 NYB

Glad you found your keys! FWIW, a locksmith can come to your car, read your locks, and cut keys on the spot. I had to have that done a few years ago when I locked the keys in the trunk. I've since made several copies and have them in both of my dailies.

    Car cover help

I bought my cover at CarsCover.com. You put your car model and year into their website and it shows what will fit. I got their Ironshield cover, and I've very happy with it. Here's a link: CarsCover.com: Online Shopping for Covers & more

    Side-view mirror not factory?

I bought one for my Newport from Vans, and I'm glad I did. It doesn't provide a wider view like today's passenger side mirrors do, but it helps when I'm backing up or am out on multilane highways. I'd recommend it.

    1968 Chrysler Town and Country

Great question – if you go to this post you’ll find quite a bit of good info: 1968 300, any way to have engine temp lights AND a gauge? This post provided the info for me to solve this for my 67 Newport, especially the info posted by FCBO member Larry Jett. I reached out to Larry, and he sent...

    1968 Chrysler Town and Country

Love the wagon! I had a similar issue with my Newport with a 383 and a 2 barrel. It was running over 200 and as high as 220 going down the road. I was also looking at getting a better fan and shroud, but I had the radiator checked at a radiator shop and it was pretty clogged. I had the...

    Question on harmonic balancer

When I replaced the timing chain on the Newport, I was able to remove the Harmonic Balancer nut with my battery impact wrench, it worked great. The challenge was tightening the nut to spec when I was putting things back together. Here's how I solved it - I took a piece of scrap 3/4" plywood...

It´s time for the Slab picture thread

Finally had a chance to get the old girl out for a drive - first of the year. She started right up from her winter slumber and ran great!

    Let's see your Newports

I love seeing Richard's car as well. And I agree, to me the Custom trim adds to the character of the car. That said, it's just my opinion and I certainly respect those who prefer the car without the trim.

    1967 Chrysler 300 Gauge Location

I stopped by the garage where I store my car and took some pics of the gauges I added. I have the battery unhooked so they are not lit up. The temp gauge is on the left, it was a bit too wide for the opening so I mounted it behind where I can see it. The voltage gauge is on the right, and is...

    1967 Chrysler 300 Gauge Location

I was going to but in all of the hundreds of photos I have I don't have any of that. Unbelievable! My car is put away for the winter, but I may run by to check on it this week. If I do I'll take some pics and share them.

    1967 Chrysler 300 Gauge Location

FYI - I mounted voltage and temp gauges where my ashtrays were, so when I close up the ashtray drawer you don't see the them at all.

A 67 Newport just landed in my Barn

Congrats on getting this great car! So much potential, I'm glad it's going to get the attention it deserves! Regarding the paint, the paint code on the fender tag is BM2. I did some digging, and based on what I have that means that it was a custom paint order with a black roof and turbine...

Harmonic damper / crank pulley wobbling?

I presume you're referring to the bolt holding the harmonic balancer. To do that on my car that I made this holder out of a scrap piece of wood using the pulley as a template. I put 3 or 4 of the pulley bolts through it into the harmonic balancer, it wedged against the frame as I was...

So I bought this one today.

Here in Western NY the roads are pretty salty for most of the winter, and we have lots of 2 lane roads. The whole car gets pretty salty, of course, but it's normal for the driver's side to get extra salt spray from the the oncoming traffic. Perhaps that has something to do with this car's...
