The old stalling when put in gear syndrome

Fwiw a vacuum leak won't mean you have no vacuum, otherwise you'd have a runaway diesel on your hands

The old stalling when put in gear syndrome

What are your vacuum readings in the different rpms and driving conditions? What all did you take apart when you did the chain?

NOT MINE 1970 Polara 2dr HT with 383 for 1200$

There is wisdom in roadkill. Get out there enjoying them. Don't build them so nice you won't drive them. My dad did that to the charger, so since the day I inherited it I've been making it less nice by driving it =)

    1966 383 516 heads what pistons?

And there's no way those 516's are only needing to be cut for the 1.74's. I own a set of stealths and I chose to have Dwayne correct the vj and port them a little, but those weren't mandatory steps.

    1966 383 516 heads what pistons?

Stealth heads are $1400 for the pair and would make a huge difference in performance. Even if you 'only' had to spend the $900 to get your 516's serviceable imo you should find the other $500 in your project budget. No single other expense would bring as much benefit.

Goldie will get her orginal heads reconditioned.

Yes, I have had 1 set of 516's near that and they were heavily milled. Another set was milled some and still only 78cc Dwayne's numbers are very valuable yes.

Goldie will get her orginal heads reconditioned.

We're entering pissing match territory but plenty of real world tests show what people on this board consider 'race' parts generally help at lower rpms and more street life situations than they realize. The compression difference depends on the specific castings. The low and mid lift flow...

Goldie will get her orginal heads reconditioned.

Like I said, I've never read a single dyno pull or time slip that showed a bb head with a 1.60 valve performed better at any rpm or even 60'. Would be interested to see it. Your car having acceptable performance in no way means it wouldn't be faster with 906 heads on it. I'll bet a dollar it...

Goldie will get her orginal heads reconditioned.

I agree on the cc's having measured myself. I'd like to see dyno results showing a 1.6 valve ever helps anything. BB heads are really sized for 361-383 engines. The max wedge head should have been standard on 440's, hp's at least.
