    In need of some info/advice on a mild performance 440 built

    I was talking about a specific cam: the Hughes Whiplash cam. Its on their website: Our Whiplash cam is designed for basically stock, low compression engines. This cam will run on pump gas in a 440 with 8.25:1 or less compression and iron heads. If your compression is higher than this you may...

    In need of some info/advice on a mild performance 440 built

    Thank you Has2b for your advice! However, when getting the CR above 8.5, the Hughes cam does require other higher octane race fuel. When Im changing pistons, alot more work and money is involved. And I do not have the budget for that unfortunatly. My heads are 975's btw.

    In need of some info/advice on a mild performance 440 built

    Thanx for pointing that out Dave: On my current radiator, the lower hose is on the pass side. On my 440, the waterpump also has it on the pass side. So I got that covered! :)

    In need of some info/advice on a mild performance 440 built

    Thank you Dave for your extensive answer! I do have a total rebuilt and upgraded 727B with the engine and also have the yoke to make a custom/other driveshaft. Im also aware that I probably need a higher stall TC but the engine has my priority now. The Fury has the big radiator already, I have...

    In need of some info/advice on a mild performance 440 built

    Hi Stubs and thank you for your comment. I'm not 100% sure about the compression ratio but according to the machineshop that sold me the engine, its stock low compression. I did not receive a build sheet with the sale, however, on the invoice there were some numbers behind the items they...

    Hoping to get some info/advice from you about my 440 built, as I can't see the forest anymore because of all those trees..(Dutch saying :) Meaning: There is so much to buy and so much info out there, I kinda lost track on what to do. I recently purchase a 1975, steel crank low compression 440...

    1972 Fury Motormounts 360 -> 440

    Thank you traintech sir, all information is must appriciated! I also have a brand new 727 Bigblock trans so that will be bolted on to my 440. My current 360LA engine has the 904 transmission behind it, so I need to get rid of that anyway.

    1972 Fury Motormounts 360 -> 440

    That clarified it all for me! Big thumbs up for the help here! There are some more questions regarding the oil pan. Perhaps you also have knowledge about that too: I have the 933 oilpan - without the indent - and some say it will fit, just like the 187 pan, but others say it will not fit...

    Thank you FURYGT for your information. All info is welcome! And a big thank you to Bigmoparjeff for taking the time to help me out here! So in short: The welded part on the chassis stays. On the 440 engine, I bolt on the 119-1000 Engine support brackets from 440source and between these...

    1972 Fury Motormounts 360 -> 440

    I'm in the process of engine swapping a 1975 440 engine into a 1972 360 Fury. I'm told that the 360 mounts on the LA engine are the same as on a 440. But i'm a bit confused by the term "Motor or engine mounts". Are both mounts named motormounts? 1. The mounts that are on the block - Engine or...
