    I got a Station Wagon!

I'm so envious... That is an absolutely gorgeous car! Try to keep it as original as possible, please don't 'improve it' into the scrap heap! Bruce

Leaf Springs or Air Shocks for sagging 197070 Chrysler 300

An additional problem with either Air Shocks or Coil Over shocks is the SHOCK they are based on. The companies know the customer buying that product is generally uninformed, so they use the lowest quality shock to modify into that configuration. New Leafs!!! B

    Shocks for 72 C body

Former 'Auto Parts' store experience here. Monroe/Napa shocks are the same after you open the box. Air shocks are designed with a primary mission, to supplement the carrying capacity of the Springs/Torsion Bars. Monroe adds the 'Air Support' feature to their most 'basic' shock, due to them...

    Lifter noise at start up

Fury Fever.... I've been repairing and maintaining Mopars since 1970, currently have two long term vehicles. One is a 1976 Power Wagon 360 4bbl that I put the engine together in 1986. Around 250,000 miles with no issues. The other Flat Tappet engine was put into service in 1995 and has...

    Lifter noise at start up

Are you willing to do a relatively cheap experiment? Get a WIX 51515 Oil Filter (NAPA 1515)... Do not accept a substitute, that 'they' say is the same. Get 15w40 Diesel Spec motor Oil, Chevron Delo, Mobil Super 1300, ..not.. some generic store brand and NOT Synthetic. To keep all things...

1965 Dodge 383 Motor Bogging Down Under Hard Acceleration

Sorry, I started on another thread, then tripped and fell into this one! It's such a common issue for folks to install a 'GM' version Coil, I can't count how many times I've I've had to correct that... B

1965 Dodge 383 Motor Bogging Down Under Hard Acceleration

That may be so... However the stock MoPar Ignition Coil DOES require a voltage reduction. B

    Carter AFB 4 Barrel Carburetor

Love the AFB, so rock solid reliable... An easy verification for proper Float Level is to install the Needles & Floats, then hold the Carb Top UPside down and level. The Floats will assume the position that will be achieved when Fuel is pushing them up during operation. Normally, the Floats...

    318 or 360, 727 or 904

Glad to hear you are going the 'run what ya brung' route! I woiuld do a couple of stealth conversions, during the rebuild that will not decrease reliability or driveability. A) Substitute a set of late 80's 318 heads. The Combustion chambers are upgraded to a what folks refer to as a...

1965 Dodge 383 Motor Bogging Down Under Hard Acceleration

Following up on a Statement you made earlier in this posting. Your 'Coil Voltage' is incorrect, if your Ignition is not modified, it should be going through a Ballast Resistor and reduced to something around 7 Volts. Bruce

    Torque Converter Design Change

Can someone define the difference between the T.C.'s installed beginning in 1977, compared to the 1976 and before? My concern is the thickness of the 4 Mounting Pads. 1976 has THICK pads and 1977 has THIN pads. I understand all the 'Balance Weight' issues, that part is simple. My question is...

    Neutral Safety Switch

Have you verified that the Back Up Lights are operational? I would suggest checking to make sure Voltage is getting to the Switch, then apply Voltage to the Back Up Circuit. That will make sure they DO work when you install a correct working Switch.

Cat’s Out Of The Bag, ‘65 300L Manual Trans, A/C and More

A comment on Compression verification... If you take an Original Piston from the tear down and precisely measure the distance from the Piston Pin Bore to the Top Face of the Replacement Piston, you can deduce if the Compression is going to be Lower or Higher, all other things being equal. I...

    Radiator recommendations

Can't find the article from a few years back, but it was science based. A Brass/Copper radiator of equal surface area will transfer more heat to air than an Aluminum. Also a lot less prone to corrosion.

1966 Chrysler 300 park lamp bulb help

Agree with Bronze Turbine, soak it first. If you are replacing the bulb anyway, you can just break the glass then use a large Flat Blade Screwdriver inserted into the 'interior' of the bulb base and turn while pushing.

1970 Plymouth Sport Fury GT promo video

I had a used '70 GT in 1973, I remember it's stance as being 'flat' as well. It handles amazingly well on corners and looking out over that massive almost flat hood was a treat!
