65 New Yorker, first project car

This is all good advice. The problem I see is that we do not know his skill level working on cars whether new or old. Brakes are a very important safety feature, and things can go wrong if you have no experience at all. My advice would be to find someone that can do brakes and work along or with...

    1959 Dodge Coronet

Does the car have power steering now? If it does it might be a broken or cracked hose. The part you are talking about for the fuel gauge to work should be the sending unit which goes in the tank. That is assuming that the fuel gauge is good. There are several venders that sell parts for 1959...

    Any opinions on Liquid Tape?

An X-Acto knife and some 3M vinyl would work like Big_John said above. Easy to apply and comes off easy if you make a mistake. You can also get it in gloss, satin or matte. The factory jobs were not the greatest.

Advice needed on two fronts for my '68 300 Convert with the 440

The MSD Streetfire box is made in the U.S.A. I use one with a dual point Mallory Dist. and it works great. In your case I would leave what you have and try to find the problem before changing a lot of parts. Make sure the points are properly set and that your battery cables are good. How old is...

    Fuel tank

I always use the original lock rings. It seems a lot of the reproductions are too thin, and they eventually come loose.

Ellie May is on the road

Nice job. I would go with Mopar Rallye wheels or Keystone Klassics (do they even make those anymore?).

    69 fury project car

Spongy brakes sounds like they need to be bled some more. Did you start from the back and work forward? The tapping like said above is likely lifters and may get better after being driven some more. The car doesn't look bad and I would leave the body alone. I would look for a muffler shop that...

Nick's Garage type site for valve covers?

I bought a 426 street wedge engine complete back around 1969. It had those valve covers on it. However they could have been changed.
