Are those your headers or do you have to buy them? If you already have them, why don't you give it a try. The worst that would happen is that they won't work. I'll bet no one ever tried it.

I run the Streetfire box that is made by MSD. It is made in the USA. I use it with a Mallory dual point distributor, and it works great.

If your engine is stock and you do not have any plans for an upgrade, you don't need 2.5 inch pipes. 2.25 would be fine. I doubt you would feel any power difference going to the larger pipes.

Are you upgrading to a 4 barrel manifold and carb too?

Does your 383 have a 4 bbl and duals? If it does you would see some improvement in power if you don't go overboard. Keep the primary tubes to around 1&3/4 inches and stay away from the 3" exhaust and you should be okay. You will need to change the jets in the carb. to get the most from the system.
