Has anyone used a disc brake conversion kit

Nice looking Newyorker. I drive mine to and from work, 14 mile round trip. It's right through town, a lot of traffic lights. I also take it to camp numerous times throughout the summer, 140 mile round trip. The first part is a lot of twisty, turny, up and down hills. I just give myself plenty of...

Has anyone used a disc brake conversion kit

I'm starting to think I'm going to live with the drum brakes. Back in my 20s I had a '65 Newport with a single pot master cylinder and booster. I drove that car for probably 7 years without issue. At least my Newyorker has a double pot cylinder with a booster. I may look into a new set of shoes...

Has anyone used a disc brake conversion kit

Unless I can find a donner car somewhere in the area with a complete disc set up with rebuildable calipers, I may go with one of the kits. It'd be nice to find something within a few hours of Pittsburgh. I was searching today for reman calipers, 18-4031 and 18-4032, and only found one side...

Has anyone used a disc brake conversion kit

Thanks for the reply. I hadn't considered replacement parts and I do still have the factory 14" wheels. I did see another kit that used GM parts if I remember right. I'll have to do some more research.

I'm looking at purchasing a front disc brake conversion kit for my '67 Newyorker. Has anyone used any of the available kits? I'm looking at A LEEDs kit from Summit. Any advice or insight would be appreciated. 1967 CHRYSLER NEW YORKER Leed Brakes FC2003SM LEED Brakes Front Disc Brake Conversion...

What engine is in this thing?

Sounds like the general consensus is it's a 350hp with a different carb. I will eventually check the block number and the other stamping on the base of the carb and let you know what I find.

What engine is in this thing?

I can't read the other markings on the base. I'll have to remove the carb to read those.

What engine is in this thing?

I'd like to know what I actually have in my '67 New Yorker other than a 440. I've attached the fender tag and the VIN number. According to my 1967 service manual I have a "Special Order 8". How can I figure out what the HP and torque ratings are? The carb tag and base number is 4966S which I'm...
