MY Unicorn X RARE 69 Monaco 500 Convertible

Low performance 440 '69 Dodge & Plymouths probably had dual exhaust & dual snorkel air cleaners like their '70 brethrens. Basically the "Pursuit Special" K code 440 was the same as the civilian K-code when it came to the D/P cars.

MY Unicorn X RARE 69 Monaco 500 Convertible

He bought it in NY years ago but I guess its possible it could have came down from Canada. It was originally built in the states though and not the Windsor plant.

MY Unicorn X RARE 69 Monaco 500 Convertible

A local friend has a K-code '69 Sport Fury convertible as well. Very unusual but I guess optional! Probably wasn't much more to get the L-code.

Another Holy Grail C-body Resto Starts Here; 1970 Sport Fury S/23 "N" Code 383 4bbl

Sorry to hear that. Sounds very similar to what I faced trying to get my GT ready in time for Carlisle 2021. For me it was the alternator that ended up dying last minute before it was time to leave for the show.

Another Holy Grail C-body Resto Starts Here; 1970 Sport Fury S/23 "N" Code 383 4bbl

In my opinion, non of the post '69 C-bodies had the pie tin from the factory (excluding the TNT 440 U-code Chrysler). Only 335hp 383 & 375hp 440 engines with the high performance cam were Super Commando / Magnum engines those years for Plymouth/Dodges (which excludes all N-code C-body cars being...

Another Holy Grail C-body Resto Starts Here; 1970 Sport Fury S/23 "N" Code 383 4bbl

You know... @Fury Pursuit 6bbl GT & your S/23 both rolled off the same assembly line on the same SPD! Would love to see the VIN/VON to see how far off they were.

Its been hard to keep quite on this thread since a year ago (actually the same day I picked up the Florida PK41U cop car) I picked up my own '71 CSP 2dr from a facebook friend. I finally had it shipped to NY 2 weeks ago. Bought as I figured its the next best thing to a SFGT only to find my SFGT...

    Polaroid and Vintage Pictures

I bought a pile of parts the other weekend from an ex-Dodge dealership parts manger from '63ish to early '80s. Ed kindly shared some photos of his Super Bee he bought new in '69. Before trading the car in at a used car lot in '78 he swiped the Ram Charger air cleaner from it and kept it all...

Engine call outs on the bottom of the fenders were standard on all '71 Furys with a 360 or larger engine. A38 package would include a certified speedo (140mph in the case of Plymouths & Dodges) & the HD rubber flooring. The one map picture clearly shows a '71 2dr next to the red car captioned...

    To Be or NOT

Definitely a worthy and restorable car. If you dont want to take it on theres someone else out there who would. ......however I call 1st dibs on the 4 speed hump if it gets the knife! Lol... but seriously, should be restored.

    My Unicorn, eh?

Sweet! I asked because back in August I ended up finding a quarter for my 2dr '67 Valiant at Hidden Valley Auto Parts in Arizona. I spotted a '68 2dr in the background while watching Junkyard Gold / Roadkill hahaha

    My Unicorn, eh?

Pull the plugs, spray a little marval mystery oil in the cylinders and see if it spins over by hand with a breaker bar. Drain the pan & cut the filter open. Maybe pull a valve cover. If all looks well, add some fresh oil & put some gas down the carb and see if it fires. Have a functional...

Fast forward to 4:45 Torsion quiet ride was a huge advertising point across the mopar C-body lineup in '71 even though it was 1st used in 1970 on all civilian C-bodies besides convertibles off the top of my head. 1971 Fury Brochure My '71 PK41U does not have the iso-quite rear as expected...

Axle sub-assemblies are listed in the book. However upon closer analyst the 8 3/4s are listed housings separate from carrier & gear (for obvious interchangeability reasons). All other axles are complete housing+diff assemblies. (section 3-03-3, pg 3-3)...

I believe D69 special order axle is in regards to them not using the ISO rubber leaf spring perches. Every other civilian chassis C-body that year would have had the quite ride ISO perches hence the special order axle. The other possibility could be the use of 3.23 gears behind a T-code 440. The...
