    best carburetor

I'd have to run out and check it. It's been a while since I bought it. Whatever it is, I don't like it.

    best carburetor

So, my 70 Sport Fury has a 69 440 in it right now. I'm running an Edelbrock on it, and I hate it. It is impossible to start. The air cleaner doesn't fit well on it. I am ready to get rid of it. As such, can anyone recommend what carb I should go with? Appreciate the input.

Hemi 345 or 392 crate engine

Has anyone tried to drop one of these into our C-bodies? Curious as to how much fab work would be required. Mopar Performance 345 Crate HEMI V8 Engine 5.7L Eagle Gen III - 68303088AC | Mopar Online Parts

    What carb for my 440?

Most of the linkage worked as is. Just make sure you buy the Mopar linkage adaptor with it. Only installation problems I had with it was, I had to file some of the holes out to align with my intake studs. Here it is: Edelbrock Throttle Lever Adapters for Performer Carburetors 1481

    What carb for my 440?

I went with this one on my 440. Starts up immediately. Haven't had it on the road yet due to restoration, but seems to be very responsive when I've had to move the car around. :D EDL-1806 Carburetor, Thunder AVS, 650 cfm, Square Bore, Electric Choke, 4-Barrel, Air Valve, Single Inlet, Silver

    advice on a sure grip

So, I'm starting to do some research on adding a sure grip to my 70 Sport Fury. I wanted to get some suggestions on what I should do. Car currently has 8 3/4 open with 2.76 gears in it. 1) Should I buy one already built/put together in a case? I believe I need a 489 case, no?; OR 2) Should...

    Compression ratio

And yep, compression is a bit higher in 69. Same can be said for the 440.

    Compression ratio

You'd have the compression for the 1970 model year which began in August 1969, I believe.

    Mufflers...

    Mine is 2.5 into 2.25 tail pipes. I think the compression on a '69 440 was 10.5:1.

    Mufflers...

Very nice rumble. I have a stock '69 440 in my car. Sounds really good. I think you'll be happy with them.

    Mufflers...

These are the mufflers I have on my car. They sound great. Fairly quiet when running it at freeway speeds. Low drone.

    valve covers on wrong side?

Based on another car I just saw, it appears I have the springs reversed.

    valve covers on wrong side?

Also, I was thinking of getting a couple new springs. The ones on there look original. Any particular type I need to look for?

    valve covers on wrong side?

According to the 70 FSM, neither are on there correctly. He had the throttle return spring through the cotter pin/clip hole. Looks like I've got it figured out thanks to the FSM. Thanks guys.
