    Trans upgrade

There was some adapters out there in the world for putting a 904 behind a big block smaller internals to be quicker at drag strip. Would do the same thing as 518 behind big block. I think most of them have gone away, seemingly replaced by ultra bell.

    Trans upgrade

I have not done a automatic. I have put a 4 spd manual overdrive 833 trans in 2 different cars. They are both are nice cruisers. My Charger has a mild 440, 3.23 gears and gets a easy 15+ mpg on the highway at 70+ mph and you can hear yourself think. The other car is a '69 Coronet/Super Bee with...

    vapor lock

There is a reason for it. Adding a unreliable, not readily available crutch to patch the problem is no good. Have to find the problem. While I would not rule out the fuel pump push rod. The premature pump fail is a indicator that it is working too hard. I believe all behind the license plate...

    Hp manifolds or TTI headers

My Charger has headers on it, solely because the price of B body HP manifolds I can literally buy 2 pair of cheap headers. So it has free headers on it, and it fits with the used parts extravaganza engine that is in it, (remember it has one sanded down .030 piston in a std. bore block). Knocks...

    Hp manifolds or TTI headers

No your good John. I know you get it. I guess you got dumped into the ground clearance thing sort of, only car I have ever had with headers and ground clearance is a A body with the around the steering pipes, my Challenger sits really low, like scrapes on the oil pan low, headers do not hit. I'm...

    Hp manifolds or TTI headers

My brother in laws argument that he loses ground clearance with headers. If you put the car up on the lift it's the exhaust pipes that drag every speed bump. He still blames the headers. Am I going to put headers on my '81 Imperial? Probably not, because the gain is not there. Am I leaving the 1...

    Hp manifolds or TTI headers

No, once it starts to cool it's just physics, the thermo part goes away. 6" pipe cost too much, and thats why it is not on a car. If the car companies did not have to compete with each other for MPG and satisfy the government they would still be putting single exhaust on every car you didn't pay...

    Hp manifolds or TTI headers

Headers, it improves everything, mpg, throttle response, torque, HP. Factory exhaust systems on these new cars is a big reason they get the incredible mpg they get. Don't believe the bullshit about small pipes/back pressure producing torque. Small exhaust pipes don't produce anything except...

    Factory 4 speed shifter help!

Buy a Hurst shifter for a 1970 and earlier B body that way you will get correct rod length for the forward mounting pad/point. The "S"ish curved shifter will work with the dash. Get one for a console car and the shifter will have the right side offset to center in your console. You can always...

    What is your daily driver?

Why would you? Overpriced bloated 1/2 ton Pu that weigh #5500. A crossover that is 2 small tweaks away from the one in your neighbor's driveway made by a completely different company. Seriously do the designer's just share with all the other companies, disgusting. All just brown paper bags...

    Pressure build up in radiator

If you're getting huffing out of the breather or oil cap and a pressured cooling system, you have a really blown head gasket. Getting white foamy crap on the inside of the oil cap? Cracked head on a big block rarely goes to water. The cracks will be from exhaust valves to head surface around the...

    Pressure build up in radiator

You can rent a cooling system pressure tester from the crappy chain auto parts. You put it on and if it turns colors you have combustion gasses in cooling system, which.................. Wait for it......................... Leads to........................... Head gasket! Or cracked block...

Thermoquad Rebuild and Throttle Linkage Setup

It only vents at idle to the vapor canister. The linkage right by it controls a cap that closes it off at pretty much anything over idle. You have to really be flying in a left turn to get it to splash out, but better safe than sorry, and its basically pointed right at exhaust manifold or...

Thermoquad Rebuild and Throttle Linkage Setup

To be honest you would have to really be generating some pretty good G's to get the gas to spill out and if you hit the throttle the linkage (Y shaped thingy) near it shuts off the opening. I'm pretty familiar with TQs I have 2 of them on the road and running beautiful.

Thermoquad Rebuild and Throttle Linkage Setup

No plug that hanging off the passenger side it is the vent to the vapor canister, will leak gasoline on a very hard left. The vents for the float bowls are the 3 tubes sticking straight up into the air cleaner, they will not leak fuel unless your floats are stuck down and or your upside-down...

    Is this Monaco worth $2500?

Put 15" wheels on it. Put as tall a tire you can stand (looks of sidewall height). You need top/highway speed.

    Is this Monaco worth $2500?

That sounds like my kind of car. Some tinfoil hats for the PCM and body control module so that the car has no idea what the calendar date is and it will drive forever.

    Is this Monaco worth $2500?

Wow a speeder slant with no power nothing. That's the car advertised in the Sunday paper at low, low price, and when you stopped by on Monday it was sold and you got up sold.

    Is this Monaco worth $2500?

I'd buy that car for around that price. I would fix and drive it the way it is. Then keep fixing stuff as the years go on. It will always be worth more than you paid. I would not get into the 100 point perfect resto trap. If that is what you like/interested in then find a better car to start...
