    (800) 777-0133 ask them if they have any info on your plate number. "we have nothing on file" = it's clear.

    YOM PLates

My 1994 "DMV clear" plates discussed above, awaiting a car. Formerly on my Chevy... Note the starting digit. 30 years later, still on the same sequence, now at 9J or k. I believe this system started with the 7-digit blue plates in the early 80s, then went into the "sun" plates, then the white...

    YOM PLates

BTW what's up with the new MN flat / non embossed plates? Looks cheap and fake. Other states are producing these too now (TX, AZ, etc). One of the advantages of living in CA is we still have real license plates, lol. Stamped at Folsom Prison.

    YOM PLates

If the DMV's YOM process makes me find a 1971 sticker, then I'll just cover it up with current year sticker. No room or desire for stickers in multiple locations. Yup, I still see lots of black and blue plates that look like original issuance plates. Also, I've seen a handful of these plates...

    YOM PLates

Ok, thanks, good to know. The blue plates are formatted just like the current plate, so do you really need a "vintage" year sticker? I thought with the blue and black plates you could just have a current year reg sticker, since these weren't embossed with a year number on them. Actually, the...

    YOM PLates

So the state allows the blue plates in the YOM program now? I recall they only allowed up to the end of the black plates (1969) last time I registered yom plates (over a decade ago), but I was only dealing with the early 50s plates then I have a set of 6 digit blue plates that I'm waiting for...

Restoration Underway 1971 Plymouth Sport Fury GT Canadian Promotional Car - MCG Article

I figured.... the only idea I had was to use one of those stud welders and pull it out with an axle puller, the metal looks thin enough to do so. I'm guessing it is 14 gauge. Ma Mopar should have added jacking pads into the design.

Restoration Underway 1971 Plymouth Sport Fury GT Canadian Promotional Car - MCG Article

Awesome project! I'm curious about the stub frame rails, this seems like a common condition on C-bodies where they're dented inwards on the bottom from jack abuse over the years. What's the best method to straighten the metal here? Any access holes from the top?

2023 the year of no progress for the ‘68

Right on. Ignore the naysayers and haters and don't sideline your passion. It took me 20 years to finish my first car restoration, starting when I was 16. I think I elaborated about that in another one of your threads....

    Rust-salt crust removal

Ah...! Well, there was a ton of sand and gravel in these body mount pockets and inside the stub frame. That 'splains it. Perhaps the minerals from the sand and other deposits from perhaps driving on unpaved roads mixed with the rust to form this tough coating. As for the mechanical removal...

    Rust-salt crust removal

Removing rust from the body structure crevices where the body to stub mounts are. This area is semi-exposed and this became filled with road debris. Since the car lived its life in SASK and Alberta, I assume it was exposed to a few rounds of salt. Not much exposure, so no severe damage, but even...

I used those exact upper and lower bawl joints when I did the front end on my former '73 NYB. Good quality, you'll be pleased if you drive this car a lot. I hear you on the dust boots. With so much engineering put into the metal components, why can't they engineer a good boot? Seems like...

Hydrogen peroxide works on mold, mildew, and fungus too. I just started using that in the shower instead of bleach. Do you have any recommendations on an O3 generator? 1973 Fury Fuel Line????

I think the frame clips on my former '73 looked the same as Ming's. Didn't replace them. The 1/4" vent line however was completely plugged with rust which caused the tank to collapse or balloon when changing altitude or after prolonged driving. Suggest it be checked it as it's the tank vent that...
