I'm pretty sure you could fabricate something yourself much cheaper that still looks good. Use some thick lexan, stainless hardware, and use existing mount points on the car. Make it short enough that you can close the top with it in place. Then again, I'm sure someone who owns a 'vert will...

It's cheaper than vacuuming though. These are the ones I could even find, and they'd have to custom make it. A wind deflector for your classic convertible is the #1 best accessory

I thought there was a metal band on the backside? Can't you just remove that band, bend it in a bit, and put the screws back in?

This is what I put in my Newport, but it's getting moved to the glovebox, and the original AM is going back in the dash. It has a VERY shallow mounting depth, and I could technically mount it anywhere. Sony Media Receiver with BLUETOOTH® Technology Available on Amazon here...

Mine opens, but I have to close it by hand. I can turn the crank in the close direction, and it eventually stops... I just need to dig in and see what it all looks like inside.

The ones I've seen at VatoZone and the like all have spike-grips on the bottom, as well as screw holes to permanently mount.
