    The SAGA Begins - '66 300 Convertible

Rip: If you take a look at post #375 it would seem that you need to need to: 1 - take the metal slotted strip off the back of the seat, and 2 - install the seat back that you had made, and 3 - layout the cover on top of the seat back with the ventilation hole facing down, and the top flush...

    The SAGA Begins - '66 300 Convertible

Well that's really interesting. I wonder if it changed from 65-66-67? Just looking at how far that protrudes out from the back of the seat, I think my convertible top bow would hit that. I have about 2 inches clearance from the back of the seat to the top bow when the top is folded into the...

    The SAGA Begins - '66 300 Convertible

Well that soft flap cover looks more like what would have been available in 66/67. I worry about the clearance between it and the bow of the convertible top when it is fully down. Does it land on top of the cover or? I find it strange that will all my searches for photos of my 67 300 I have...

No, the speaker is not grounded. I have a connection with 2 spades into the speaker itself, which runs down the inside of the seat and comes out the bottom of the seat above the reverb unit. There is a connection there for each wire, so you can unplug easily if you have to take the rear seat...

    The SAGA Begins - '66 300 Convertible

My metal trim piece has 11 screws and the rear seat panel board itself has an additional 2 on each end and 2 more under the speaker cover. Now I do not know if they are all original but they look like they are. The speaker cover has a flat insert on the top that has predrilled holes in it that...

    The SAGA Begins - '66 300 Convertible

Did your 66 have the oval speaker cover that goes over the back of the speaker? I have found one, and repaired it and installed it, not the best but better than the gaping speaker hole in the rear of the seat! At least I think so. It is a really flimsy plastic job, but I am told it is correct...

It goes underneath the slotted strip on my 67 and held in by the same screws that attach the strip. Camshaft
