    I had the exact same problem and it turned out to be my ignition key. It was intermittent. So I had to remove the ignition key from my dash and rebuilt it.

    Radio output volts AC DC

    I'm not sure about the 73 radios. But the 69 c body Philips thumb tuning radios are notorious for open capacitors in all there radios. Complaints would be no audio out of left or right or both speakers, low audio, no stereo tuning, weak station. Those units always has to be completely recapped...

    Anyone remove the thumb roller face of a 1967-68 radio chassis? If so, do you think it would interface a modern radio chassis?

    Yes I have done it to my 69 amd added Bluetooth to the stock factory electronics
