Convertible top - plastic or glass window?

Considering you live in NY state and just to add to this warning . Be very cautious operating the top mechanism in extremely cold temperatures. I've heard more than a few anecdotes of shattering rear glass in those conditions including from the former owner of my car.

Took Advantage Of The 80 Degree Weather

Nice work. You rarely see paint in that deteriorated condition from the sun up here in Canada. BTW this is the article is about the polar vortex coming our way LOL... Triple winter threat takes direct aim at Ontario

1968 Dodge Polara C-Body Gas tank conversion

I have a 68 Monaco 500 but it has never occurred to me to try such a modification since I'm more conservative when it comes to mods. It would be surprising if you found someone who has tried this so you may be breaking new ground. I will watch this thread with interest.

Fixing rust hole - what to use

Access to a mig welder should have made your decision easy. Glad to see you are doing it right. To supplement your welding for corrosion resistance or for non-structural applications this is an interesting option.

Unless you are building a show car just weld a patch in yourself. It doesn't need to be pretty just solid. My.02.

    Holy Rust!

Relatively inexpensive tool to easily weld sheet metal that even someone technically challenged as me can use. Just a suggestion. http://www.eastwood.com/images/pdf/19031Q.pdf

Any rust through spots need to be replaced with good metal before you hit with the POR-15. My .02.

    passenger side mirror

On my 68 Dodge Monaco 500 I matched the drivers side mirror position. As mentioned above it is marginally effective but I have it oriented somewhat down and just outside the fender. Comes in handy to see painted lines when backing into parking spaces.
