Very probably there are lots of different designs. I ran into this probledm and I am just suggesting he needs to check it out if the rockers are running dry.

What I was trying to say is best shown in this diagram. The oil passes thru a hole at each end of the cam and goes up to the rocker shaft. Note the location of the oil hole in the rocker shaft and what would happen if the rocker shaft assemblies were accidently reversed.

We noticed when we ran the pump with an electric drill, had good oil pressure but the rockers were dry. Pulled a rocker assembly and looked at the oil feed. It didn't line up so pulled the other rocker and discovered the same problem. However if we put the right rocker on the left and the left...

If I remember correctly the rocker assemblies are right and left side in order to line up the oil feeds from the head. At least that's the way they are on a 440 - guess how I discovered this!

I had the same after boil problem. I added an overflow bottle like this.

I used to invert the pie plate, this vastly increased air flow and let some of the neat sound effects out at WOT.

So, if you put 10 gal in a 15 gal drum, then added 1 gal of water, stir, let it settle, then drain the water from the bottom you would have pure gas for you car. Here in Calgary, the Co-op stations do not pump any ethanol fuel so that's where to get fuel for your classic.

Probably don't really matter what you do as long as it's assembled correctly. Lets face it you probably won't beat the heck out of your car anymore than I'll beat on mine. Everything boils down to I'd rather drive it rather than fix it!

Paul used Fel-Pro FS7891PT11 - 440 Engine Gasket Kit on my engine, in fact all the various gaskets are Fel-Pro. Edit: My heads are 906

Don't know much about regulators except the one sold by Mr Gasket is a piece of leaking crap!!

Did not know that, I thought Ma Mopar blessed all her cars with that particular head ache!

Check the bulkhead connector, a dirty/corroded pin will cause that type of intermittent shutdown. My IHC Scout had a Mopar style bulkhead connector and it shut me down more than once until I figured out what was happening. Failing that, I'd change the coil.

I'd leave it as is, reduce the chance of getting a speeding ticket.

Check also the transmission fluid, the cooler integrated into the rad could be leaking.
