So the seat back is different but looks like it shares the same package tray.

    Package Tray

I need to check the part’s books but I believe the Newport had a full rear seat back but the 300’s had the rear seat back that dropped down like the convertibles.

Cat whisker, fuzzies, whatever you call them installation

I remember dealing with staples when I did mine in my ‘68 Polara I need to check some of my old threads to remember. It seems I used the old ones to make a template and drilled pilot holes in the whiskers. I may have reused the staples or they came with new staples using the original holes then...

    68 Polara Front Door Locks

Once you take the door panel off, it is pretty easy to see what is going on. Take off your door arm rest (two screws underneath) inside door latch, and window handles. Then take a trim removal tool and pop each of the retainers around the door panel edges. Probably about 20 of them. Just...

    Headliner Failing

It looks like the thread gave away vs the fabric actually ripping. Also the foam above probably has turned into dust, so the more you play with it the worse it’ll get. A nice little hand stitch may keep it together for a little while. A small curved needle will be your friend. Don’t pull too...

    Headliner help

I did mine following the service manual. My windows were out which gave a little more working room. Make sure you find and mark your center lines on the fabric and the car. Slow and steady is the ticket. I am sure I had over 4 hours into it.

    67 Fury Glovebox install question

There should be some seams that may have some perforation. Almost need to collapse it in the center and sides, slide through the opening (or actually force) and then pop the center and sides back out. Not easy but doable. Kind of like origami. You will have skinned knuckles when you are done.

What are these and where do they go??

Here is a picture from my’68 manual. First picture is from the 4 door but labeled the spring nut. Second picture is the rear of the 2dr HT but not labeled.

What are these and where do they go??

Spring retainers. If I am not mistaken these hold the rear window scissors that are attached to your regulator. There is not much room and you will drop them down into the bottom of your window well a couple of times before you get them secured. If you don’t put them on, the peg may rattle out...

Sill Plate Extensions - screw hole?

@D Cluley is correct. You need the sheet metal piece to screw into.

Seat belt questions - cleaning them, and diff's between '67 and after (buckle is chromed vs plastic covered)

The ‘68’s are just black paint (or color coded paint) over the top metal buckle latch that has texture. In ‘68 they seemed to start toning down bright reflections in the interior.

    1968 Chrysler 300 Upper Dash Pad...is this a cover?

The ‘68’s are at least 2-3 pieces. One big top pad and 1 or two across the bottom. The trick is getting enough clearance at the windshield to get the studs free of the dash frame. If the windshield is out you have a chance. If it is still installed, it may be a challenge. Black seems to be...

    1968 Chrysler 300 Upper Dash Pad...is this a cover?

For original vinyl SMS out of Oregon is likely the most accurate. May need to send a small sample to match. Since they are about the only game in town they are not cheap nor always quick. If you have a good Upholstery shop or supply in the area, you may be able to find the right texture and...

    1968 Chrysler 300 Upper Dash Pad...is this a cover?

My current dash on my ‘68 Polara which was severely cracked I sent to just dashes in California. Awesome job but not cheap. They stripped off the old vinyl and then rebuilt the foam pad underneath and then used a hot vacuum press to re-stretch and re-adhere the vinyl. This car was special to...

DOOR LOCK KNOB - metal insert for threading

The plastic should self tap as you are screwing them on. Warm them up a bit and then screw them on. Or if you have a tap and die set tap in the threads. If the hole in the replacement knob is too large then that’s a different issue and likely related to the wrong part.
