2004 Beetle fuel pump. Clean car, promises to be a pain in the butt to keep in service.

No reason to use the right stuff when you got all the wrong stuff right there.

What are you working on today??

95 Deville front brakes. Can't wait to get rid of this Crapillac. More room for another Mopar, something that stays fixed when its fixed. So, today I worked on garage space for the future Chrysler.

    suspension

The Mopar big block drive train is the last thing I would turn my back on in these big cars. The first thing I go after on a healthy stock one is getting the steering box sorted out. And then some really nice brakes are a good thing. If you don't get the steering box right, it will be a...

    I suggest you consider a 440 first.

1967 Plymouth III tire pressure ??

I run a lot of Hankook and Nexen 14- and 15-inch 75 series tires on 3,200-to-4,800-pound vehicles. 30 to 32 pounds unloaded has been the best pressure for me. Several hundred thousands of miles over many years.

    vapor lock

Yes, the vapor return filter using the vent return line has always solved my vapor lock problems on Mopar's. Never needed anything other than the stock pump. I use vented tank filler caps so the tank doesn't get sucked into a collapsed mess.

    68 Polara Seat comfort Problems

I move them back and raise the front. That lowers my butt and lifts the front, improving leg support.

    Hp manifolds or TTI headers

A few years ago, the local exhaust shop did a dual from the manifolds back, from pipe. Two mufflers, two resonators. The cost was $450. The car was a 76 New Yorker 440. They welded everything and made the hangers. It fit good. Very quiet and no drone. The old single system was totally shot, all...

    Engine rebuild

Header's can facilitate other high RPM mods that won't work without the headers. Usually making for a high stung motor that's no fun to drive. I don't use them on a sub 6 grand motor. Except my blown 572 v-drive boat.

    Engine rebuild

That's a lot of weight for a spin happy low torque small block to be moving around town without a very stiff rear gear. A 350 horse 318 is going to need a 3.55 or more to not border on being undrivable in town without a loose as a goose converter. Your low compression motor with no headers means...

Maybe not so scary, but the devil is in the details.

I don't know about the bracing, but I'm definitely big time rooting for you on this rebuild. When you get that car back together you will be my new hero.

    My wife's 67 Newport Custom

I remember the brakes on my 68 NewPort fading at 40 on an 80-mph level road stop. I don't know if they were Chrysler factory shoes or not. But definitely remember the fade.

Traded my '65 Valiant for a '66 Windsor

The 69 GTS I had for a few years in the late 70s was a blast. 340, auto, ps, pb, radio, 3.55 rear. Clean as a pin. Yellow, black top and seats. No rattles. My 75 dart is a tin can. Had a 68 Newport at the time, almost never drove the Newport then.

Traded my '65 Valiant for a '66 Windsor

My V8 auto ac ps pb A body doesn't get driven much. To small, to light, to noisy, rides to rough. Much better to drive my C body.
