    Anyone want to discuss This??

Me, I'm a 4th generation Mopar guy, well technically I guess I should say Chrysler corp guy because they weren't Mopars until the 60's and my family has been driving them as preferred brand before that. BTW the reason I know of all these cars in our family history is because I grew up on a...

Where's the oil gallery installing timing chain cover

Been a long time since I did a small block timing chain. The o ring seal maybe a seal that goes behind the plate that holds the cam in to seal the oil passage that feeds the lifters?

OK. You should have a rubber gasket between the cover and oil pan. The small seal I'm not sure what it would be for? Do you have a picture? Did you also replace the front main seal in the cover? Whenever I changed the front cover without replacing the rubber gasket between the cover and pan I...

    Temp gauge

I'm assuming you are using the stock gauge? I would get an hand held temp sensor and check the surface temps on the radiator and the intake at the thermostat housing area. Just to be clear the engine is not overheating?

That's funny you were driving it before having a license. I used to drive the Dodge farm truck around the farm before I had mine also I was about 12. I got a restricted Farm license when I was 14 that allowed you to drive a farm vehicle on the road as long as you were doing "Farm Business", I...

OK sounds good. That's not a dumb question at all. That's why the service manual says to check the level when the fluid is warm.

Depending on what you find after dropping the pan a band aid may be possible. The down side is it could leave you stranded someplace when the band aid falls off. 727's are one of the easiest trans to rebuild IMO. Like I said if you need help let me know. I know the tricks to making it last...

The rear servo could be the reverse problem but the line pressure is main issue. It could also be a valve body or a leaking governor. I suspect it needs a rebuild but pull the pan and let us know what you find. I think even if the line pressure can be fixed you have probably already damaged...

I would say the low pressure when warm and whine noise you probably have a pump problem. Probably a pump seal is going bad and when the fluid gets hot it leaks past the seal worse or the pump has worn into the case and made to much clearance. I don't think it is that but I have seen it in trans...

By the time I was a Jr in HS I was already building cars in my dads restoration shop. I went to CACC for auto tech because I wanted to learn how to rebuild auto trans and figured it would be an easy A. The first day in class the instructors told me auto trans was the only thing they didn't...

Dan, Now it sounds like you are into a pressure supply issue. The filter could be plugged or pump going bad, causing the issue. The rear clutch is applied in all forward gears but not reverse, you need the front clutch and rear band applied for that. So with having multiple issues and they get...

I have done three convertible tops one 65 Dart, a 69 Fury, and a 90 Mustang. The key is to get everything lined up in the back the open the top frame a few inches before attaching the front. That way when you close the top all the way it pulls it tight.

Yes I went to LCC from 91 to 94. No need to drop the pan to see if your rear band is broken, just see if you have engine braking in manual 1st. If you have engine braking in manual 1st, your band is not broken. If you don't then only he rear sprag is holding and the band is broke or worn out or...

Hi Dan, We have all had these kinds of weeks. I live in Michigan also down just west of MIS and I know how disappointing it is when the weather finally brakes and then you find issues with your ride. I would say you are on track with the ground but before diving into the cluster I would check...

    Cool Sport Fury Pic

They say a picture is worth 1000 words. Well what this pic doesn't say is this was this first car my dad bought new still in high school. He was 17 years old and went down to the dealer and ordered a Sport Fury 383 4-speed. It was the car he was cruising when he met my mom and taught her to race...
