Get your Hankook Optimo H724 WW tires while you can!

I have the Nexen tires on one of my cars already, in the slightly smaller 225/75R15 size. They seem fine, though I've probably only driven 3000 miles on them. I just got a quote for the Nexens in 235/75R15 at $153 CAD each.

Get your Hankook Optimo H724 WW tires while you can!

I need new tires for my hardtop. I figured I'd go for 235/75R15 whitewalls this time, while I can still get some for a reasonable price from a mainline tire manufacturer. I called a local tire shop and they said the Cooper Trendsetter SE and Hankook Kinergy ST H375 are both discontinued! The...

Get your Hankook Optimo H724 WW tires while you can!

I would be interested to know your experience with the Tire Stickers whitewalls if you go that route. I've thought about doing that also. If you want to keep the same look as those wheel covers in 15", there was a 1970s Dodge 15" wheel cover that looks very similar. If you're really lucky, the...

Leed Brakes kit - brake booster

Excellent information! You mentioned that the later C-body booster has a longer brake pedal pushrod. To add to that, it is 1/2" longer than the 1965-68 pushrod. I was running a 1973 large single diaphragm booster for awhile. I made a spacer from 1/4" aluminum plate to move it away from the...

66 Monaco single brake reservoir to dual

This thread contains the part numbers of the Weatherhead part numbers that I used. I needed the same ones for a dual-circuit upgrade using a 1967 drum MC and for a disc conversion/upgrade using a 1973 disc MC. This booster work with dual reservoir master cylinder?

Can a power disc master cylinder work with power drums?

Drum MCs usually have residual pressure valves in both circuits. Disc MCs do not have a residual pressure valve on the disc circuit. Some people say the residual pressure valve is not needed, that there is no danger of air getting into the system past the seals on the wheel cylinders because the...

    c-body torsion bar rubber boots?

My Firm Feel torsion bars came with new boots. They may sell them separately or tell you their supplier.

    Center plane brakes, ‘61 Plymouth

Whatever your problem is, I suspect it's not water contamination of the brake fluid, unless you don't drive your car for YEARS at a time. The only place that the system exposed to atmosphere is at the master cylinder, which has a cap with a seal on it. So IMO switching to DOT5 isn't going to...

5x5 recall looking wheel for imperial

How so? They are the same wheels from what I've read. Looks like they may be 1-piece cast aluminum instead of having a steel rim.

5x5 recall looking wheel for imperial

Those wheels are Motor Wheel Exiters. As already stated, they were a factory option on some Oldsmobiles. The 1971 Challenger Indy pace car that crashed also had a set of these installed. UPDATE: As others have pointed out to me below, there are differences between the Oldsmobile wheels and the...

New Repro Bendix Dual Diaphragm Brake Boosters Used on Some C Bodies & Other Models Circa 1970

I googled "BH0288E brake booster" and National Moparts was the first hit. Here is the product page: 8" Dual Diaphram Brake Booster with Brackets-Aftermarket So you used a firewall plate for manual brakes but still using a power brake pedal assembly? Could the booster have bolted right to the...

Reproduction '69 to early '72 disc brake splash shields

Would these not work for '73 discs because the center hole size is different?

What Brand of Replacement Master Cylinder?

Cardone does make brand new MC's. I bought one but it did not include residual pressure valves and the way it was manufactured (cheaply) you could not add them. I would have had to plumb-in an inline RP valve, so I did not use it.

    Drop Spindles from Firm Feel

Does it say that these were made by shortening the top part of the spindle? To my thinking, all you want to do is move the wheel and brake caliper attachment points up relative to where the balljoints attach. That would retain the same overall height of the spindle, so no change to the...

    Drop Spindles from Firm Feel

If you're talking about the spreadsheet-looking table, that just says "Chassis ID" to identify what models belong to what body letter designation. It doesn't say in the part description that the Magnum Force spindles fit C-bodies, only "A, B, E, F, J, M, R".

    Drop Spindles from Firm Feel

I don't follow you. If these are new parts where they're relocating the axle shaft up on the spindle relative to the attachment points, i.e. keeping the top where the upper balljoint attaches and the lower holes where the lower balljoint/arm attaches in the same locations, then the balljoints...

    Drop Spindles from Firm Feel

Someone on FB claims to have done a Dakota spindle conversion, and there was a thread on here discussing it, but no definitive conclusion of whether it's a good idea or what parts/modifications are needed to make it work. C-body Dakota Front Disc Brake Swap

Fuselage - Drums to Disc Brake Conversion

That later booster sounds like an interesting option. I looked at the pics on Rock Auto and it appears to be a dual diaphragm. Wider single diaphragm boosters usually interfere with column shift linkage on slab-side C-bodies. How wide is the diameter of this booster? Thanks

This booster work with dual reservoir master cylinder?

If you're doing 4-wheel discs that might be a good idea. In my pickup truck there's a channel between the 2 reservoirs so they are "common" until the fluid level gets down about halfway.

Interesting. They also offer them in 225/75R15 but the load rating is only 102S.
