Installing small front of window guides in 1966 Monaco 500 - help!

I made a how-to on installing the window sliders on the front edge of the window. It's a photo album on my FB account. It is public so hopefully you can view it even if you don't have a FB account. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10157070678339460&type=3 While you have the window out...

    Help!

I looked at these pieces on my '66 Newport convertible. Mine look to be original, intact but old and dried out. If a source is found for reproduction ones, I would be interested in buying some spares to have on-hand. Possibly they are the same as B-body convertible pieces? Parts suppliers often...

    Help!

I actually don't remember that seal #86 from when I was working on the rear windows in my convertible. Does it attach to the top of the rear window channel, #78? Is it visible from above when you roll down the rear window and look down inside the opening from above? I had a problem in that one...

    Radiator shroud bumpers

I had one that had not disintegrated. If I can find it I will take a picture. When I installed the metal shroud on my 22" rad, I just used black foam weatherstrip tape on the corners of the shroud to keep it from rubbing against the radiator.

    Avoid IN-Line Tube

A friend of mine bought this Titan one, which appears to be the same one as pictured. He also says it works great. https://www.amazon.com/Titan-Tools-51535-Double-Flaring/dp/B06XPRVCPV/ref=sr_1_13?dchild=1&keywords=brake+line+flaring+tool&qid=1633702155&sr=8-13

    Power antenna connector

Does anyone know what is the name of the connector on factory power antennas? It's a bit bigger than an RCA connector. The closest I can find from internet searching is a "Belling-Lee" connector, also known as a PAL connector, which are mostly used on European home stereo equipment. The reason...

    Dealer Installed "Vinyl" Top

Here is his car If they had used that bit of British slang in the Harry Potter movies, everyone would have been thoroughly confused!

    Dealer Installed "Vinyl" Top

I say that all the time, and I'm in my mid 40's. What about "lousy"? If something is bad I often say it's lousy. My brother has a friend who's a bodyman. He repainted my brother's 66 NYer last summer, and applied this stuff to give it a white "vinyl" roof. It looks pretty good, but isn't really...

    Economic Methodology

Not that I've heard of, but you should ask @Ross Wooldridge himself. :poke:I'll probably be paying him a visit fairly soon to pick up a part and check out his new garage.

66' 300 Turn signal gasket material

I think Detroit Muscle Technologies makes reproduction gaskets for that application. They have some stuff not listed on their website. Try contacting them.

    installing roof rail seal

3M Super Weatherstrip Adhesive is probably a good choice. I think I used "Automotive Gloozit" for mine. The description on the package lists similar applications and I already had a tube of it.

Too many keys!! What do I do?

When I installed the console in my car, I took the tumbler to a locksmith along with my trunk key and they re-keyed it for me. @James Romano if someone replaced your ignition switch, they should have swapped the original tumbler unit into the replacement switch. It is easy to do once you have...

New trim clips, by the Lens Guy

Wow, great work! I was thinking that even if you cast the black plastic part and reused original metal studs, that would be useful. When I was removing my trim, I found that the usual problem was the plastic part would break or the nut would be rusted to the stud and start spinning in the...

New trim clips, by the Lens Guy

On my 2-door hardtop: Front fender: 3 + 3 black clips with stud + 1 all-metal clip with small stud (rear-most hole just ahead of the door) Door: 4 + 1 narrow white clip with stud Rear fender: 11 + 2 black clips with stud I found by experiment that the holes must be 19/64" or larger, except for...

New trim clips, by the Lens Guy

Sorry I took awhile to comment on the new clips. They are much more flexible than my NOS clips, which is probably a good thing. The one I compared with is also a bit shorter than the originals, but not short enough that the trim is likely to come off of them though. NOS clip on the left and new...

Are the black clips the ones you're talking about? There are also the narrow white ones that are only used at the front edge of the door.

New trim clips, by the Lens Guy

I will be able to tell you, at least for a 2-door, just not at this moment. I took lots of pictures and notes as I disassembled my Windsor so I'd know how to put it back together. I may be able to tell you for a 4-door sedan also. My dad's sedan has most of the beltline trim removed. All I...

    Weatherstrip removal

National Moparts calls them "quarter window division seals", which may help in your search. They sell some but the closest application they list for these is 65-68 C-body 4-door hardtop. Possibly you need seals with a different shape. Quarter Window Weatherstrips, C Body In the US, DMT sells...
