    360 or 440?

Good examples has2b! Thanks! One question though, what's bad about a 4" stroke on a 4.030 bore as far as stroke to bore ratio goes?

    360 or 440?

    Stealthy! I love it!

    360 or 440?

Hughes engines makes a 426 cubic inch stroker kit for the 360. Then you can have some fun with 426 call outs on the car ;)

    Blower...awesome :)

    360 or 440?

The basic stroker kits start with a .030 overbore

    360 or 440?

Jose, every stroker 'myth' that you listed is exactly that, a myth. Most of the kits I've seen for the 360 start with a 4.03 bore, but the vendors that make them may be willing to customize for you without breaking the bank. Wasn't trying to say the stroked 360 is a more powerful engine than...

    360 or 440?

The 360 on its own is a torquey 'little' motor, has no problem motivating a variety of 3400lb muscle cars as well as trucks. With the usual enhancements you can bump power and gain some mpgs. That said, if you are really into cubes, then why not stroke the 360? You gain cubes without the...

    Cylinder head questions

Theres about as many variations on the definition of 'streetable' as there are languages ;) It really comes down to what you are willing to deal with, within the confines of your local law of course. When I was a teenager I drove a car with a fairly radical 340 and 4.88 gears. To me (at the...

    Cylinder head questions

I actually painted my Eddys engine color so they wouldn't jump out and scream aluminum, same with the aluminum intake. I also painted my aluminum radiator black so at a quick glance it looks stock ;) I don't have oodles of cash either but aluminum heads are more than for bragging rights. That...

    Cylinder head questions

I'm with ya ;) keep in mind that weight is power too. I'm not saying reduce the luxury of these classy cars, but there are savings to be had without changing the character of the car. Even though these cars are hefty, if you can shave 200-300 lbs then you are in the weight range of an SRT...

    Cylinder head questions

looks like I'm going to be on the hook for it, he wants me to build his motor lol I'm good about checking and rechecking during assembly, if it's a failure it won't be from parts interference ;)

    Cylinder head questions

Certainly possible, but I would expect more casting related issues. Component failures can be caused by many different things, craftsmanship is one, assembly is another, mismatched components, etc

    Cylinder head questions

I hope the component failure issues with the 440S heads are the exception and not the rule! Maybe attributed to bad rocker/stem alignment? Too big a cam, bottoming out on the valveguides? My buddy went with those heads to get the performance gains and save a little money. Certainly won't be a...

    Cylinder head questions

Those heads have good flow numbers, not quite as good as the Eddys and not near Indy. They are good entry level heads if you need the ease of porting and the weight savings. For C bods, not needed, but some folks do try to haul these sleds down the track ;)

    Cylinder head questions

440Source makes aluminum heads for $1000. We are putting them on a buddies 383. Unfortunately it will be a little while before I can give my performance observations. I have edelbrock rpms on my 440 and they work great. That said, the number you are trying to reach is easily attainable with iron...
