Goldie will get her orginal heads reconditioned.

My thoughts: I'm an "all iron" guy so that I can avoid the problems associated with dissimilar metals. I'm reconditioning the 906s on my engine.

    383/400 4 barrel intake questions

I believe the 383 intake means going to square bore from the 400 spread bore as well...but its been a while.

Did this starter just die on me?!

We just grabbed a spare we had under the bench, so old weak hummingbird to a healthy one. Don't feel you need to get a modern one. Old ones will work fine...in case you have one lying around.

Did this starter just die on me?!

I went through this on my son's truck. Sporadic starter behaviour emulating a low battery condition. Verified good battery, went in and cleaned all connections verified connectivity across all wires. Still did it. Swapped starter- fixed. Truck starts single bump of the starter every time now.

Daily driver gear ratio 8 3/4 rearend

For what it's worth, my "daily driver" 8.75 ratios of choice are 2.94s or 3.23s.

    Flooding T-Q

The TQ plastic bowls make a massive difference with today's gas...so much better than the Edelbrock I have and the heat soak issues that it has in comparison.

Possible Idea for Stalling Problem-77 New Yorker

Regarding the vacuum leak inside the car. Common culprits on Formals in my experience: 1) The valve on the column that triggers the automatic emergency brake release; 2) The valve on the emergency brake release itself.

What's the top speed you have driven in your C-body?

1974 Imperial, stock drivetrain, 2.76s...115 mph. Had more pedal available and she was still pulling, but the luxo barge suspension, tires etc was not designed for my shenanigans and I backed off before I died. 1972 Plymouth Fury I ex RCMP pursuit package, stock drivetrain (440), 3.23s...120...

Finally Converting the Lean-Burn: Final Checklist

This is how I did my 77 T&C: I stuck with the TQ and factory choke set up (ie not blocking the cross over) which I have never regretted. The TQ phenolic fuel bowls are fantastic with today's poor fuels. No hot start troubles...unlike the Edelbrock I have which struggles with heat soak issues in...

Bog and pop due to thermoquad, vacuum advance or old distributor?

How much slop is in the timing chain? Ever replaced?

    Purple cam question

I'd say 113 since you degreed the cam and that's what it turned out to be.

    sluggish ride

Points or Electronic ignition? I've seen it where, if it's really filthy/ gummed up inside the distributor, it can affect how the advance comes on and lead to the "stalls as soon as you put it in gear" problem. I presume there's no vacuum leaks either...from your description of how it runs out...

A Lovely Old Spinster, Virgin No More!

While you're in there toss that clear plastic fuel filter for a metal one like Chrysler used originally (I see one on the other end of the fuel pump)...don't want a fire like was recently reported here. I forget by whom...getting old.

    Setting Timing On a Lean-Burn

If it's any consolation, I changed my 77 to Mopar Electronic ignition and have never looked back while keeping the look under the hood as stock as possible. Few will notice, and since you've already gone the headers route, it's probably for the best.

    Setting Timing On a Lean-Burn

The Decal on the computer is from the 80's. So assuming that it was not a sticker swap... it looks like someone plopped an 80's 5th Ave computer on that 440. Could explain a lot. I have no idea how a 440 would behave in response to small block programming. I've attached a pic of what a 77...
