    Tire age...again...

Based on your report of the inspection of the tires and your financial factors, especially the inflation that is going on, I'd run them another year and keep an eye on them.

    1981 Imperial suspension parts.

81 Imperial is a J body...same platform as the Cordoba and Mirada is hiding under the different sheetmetal. As mentioned look for F,M,J body suspension parts and you're there. The last C body Imperial was 1975.

    Lord of the road wheels!!!

The 15x7 version of the road wheel debuted in 78 (used behind the aluminum fascia road wheels above) and then used til 81 on M bodies (chrome again and with plastic inserts that were painted to match the colour of the car.

Will a Dana 60 disc brake kit fit a 9-1/4

Will Dana and 8.75 stuff work on a 9.25 diff? Not a bolt on affair. I imagine you could make anything work with enough fabrication. As for 74-75 Imperial rear brakes: Calipers are the same as the fronts for a Volare or 5th Ave, so readily available. Front pads for a Volare or 5thAve can be...

Are NOS Mopar Shocks Worth Buying?

Off hand I'd say the seals are so old they'd blow pretty dang quick...but if they're cheap enough maybe you'll get lucky?

    Vogue tyres - opinions

I have the yellow pinstripe / wide white variety on my 5th Ave and they ride fine. I will say that I feel that they have a softer compound as I feel I've burned through them quicker than other brands in the past...I am soon about to replace my Vogues...I hope to squeeze one more season out of them.

    Suspension banging

The B body did not have torsion bar isolators like the 67-73 Imperial (different style) so there is no parts interchange there...these are an "Imperial thing". How does it ride with the solid mounts?

    Which wheels?

The "Volcano" cap was used up to 74...the beveled clip on style arrived in 75 on the Urethane Cordoba wheels and Chrysler standardized their use across to the W23 road wheel.

    Refurbish Wheel Covers?

I did them myself... just tons of painstaking masking and prep and polish. My are 67-69 style, but the process is the same... Before (note this is a 69 cover which came colour toned to the car...brown in this case): After. Painted in the 67 scheme of black in the centre and argent under the vanes.

    road wheels?

In my description of the M body era 15x7s I should have mentioned the centres were all chrome (under the filler disc too) since there was no need to mask and paint as that was covered by the use of the plastic fillers.

    15" Steelies/Hubcaps?

If you're up for some surgery/ welding, you can modify a 15 in rim to accept the 14 inch wheel cover too. Converting Your (Chrysler) Imperial's 15 inch Rims to 14 inch Wheel Rims Best Mopar steel rim deal out there is a set from any 80's M Body (5th Ave, Diplomat, Gran Fury) they all came...

    New Shock Frustrations ...

What I see here is 2 possibilities: 1) Poor quality control on the dimension of the bushings such that one was longer than the other...very possible considering some of the crap quality of "new" parts nowadays; 2) The LCA crushed a bit when the old shock was tightened/ over tightened? Either...

New (not rebuilt/remanufactured) Power Sttering Gears & Pumps for our C Bodies

Nice to hear some positive reviews of new parts for a change (made in USA perhaps?). So many name brands (Moog, Comp Cams etc) that used to be trusted have their stuff made in China/ elsewhere now with disastrous resultsfor the consumer (ie waste of money/ premature failure/ low/ no quality...
