    I had to repair the both the upper and lower couplers. Got a kit for the lower one but I needed to replace the rag joint in the upper coupler. The NOS parts out there were very expensive so I made my own using a hockey puck with metal sleeves for the allan bolts to counter sink into. Works OK...

    Has anyone ever repaired one of these units without totally removing the steering column. I am having an issue with the one in my 1970 Dodge Monaco with floor shift automatic.

    Why 'no way'? Just curious. They have been on the car for over 5 years and at least five 1000 mile trips with no issues. Works for me!
