OK, it's an interesting one... and it will hijack this thread. I'll PM it to you.

    66 Exhaust Tips

Oh yeah!! The car is an absolute beast. I assume you know its story?

    66 Exhaust Tips

Yeah, I noticed that too. My T&C will have more info as to the front hanger types, plus how they fit in the holes - it's pretty much unmolested that way. From what I can see on my Monaco, the holes are balanced on both sides to permit the use of the same hanger on either side (and make it not...

    66 Exhaust Tips

Me too - that's why I am so pleased with the informaion. The systems with the mandrel perfect bends look great, but I like the originality of the wrinkles - and now I know that if I really want to, I can get the pipes properly replicated in the correct sizes in stainless, and they'll look...

    66 Exhaust Tips

Awesome, thank you so very much! So - the replication also was done to avoid mandrel bends and get the proper wrinkles! I like that very much!

    66 Exhaust Tips

Lol - exactly!! Even the exhaust on my red Monaco had the offset, although the turndowns were cut off so aftermarket tips could be installed. Hard to see the actual tips in this photo, but they're reflected in the bumper itself. You can sorta see them in this video too - this is where I...

    66 Exhaust Tips

That's the one thing about C bodies - the dual exhaust from the factory was offset to the left side due to the tank being close to the left frame rail. Take a look - it's true. Always kinda bugged me a tad, but then, it's a Mopar quirk which I've grown to like!

    66 Exhaust Tips

Yup - the arch of the turn downs is always a sticking point with me on modern aftermarket systems, but NOS prebent ones seem to have the correct arch. That's why I try to get systems done at major chain exhaust places here in Canada like Midas or Speedy, which still use the original factory...

    66 Exhaust Tips

Yup - gotta have those drain holes.

    66 Exhaust Tips

That looks GREAT! And the exhaust tailpipe ends are exactly right, just as I remember them growing up!

    66 Exhaust Tips

In 66 there were no tips per say - the original equipment and aftermarket prebent pipes all had an upsweep and turn down bent into the pipe. It was not a separate piece.

Prevent Rust on Exhaust Weld Joints

Well, I find your question has some potential truth behind it, since I am a musician. Wind instruments (which have many similarities to an exhaust system), all have varying tonal qualities which are in part dependent upon the material the instrument is made from. A trumpet made of brass sounds...

Prevent Rust on Exhaust Weld Joints

    Interesting question - I haven't noticed!

Prevent Rust on Exhaust Weld Joints

Right - for some reason I made that assumption. It was late at night! Lol... Yeah, regular non-stainless exhaust systems rust, and there's little to be done about it unless you coat the pipes with something, and make sure they get heated up enough to dispell the moisture inside them. My...

Prevent Rust on Exhaust Weld Joints

Interested... I asked my local stainless steel exhaust person, and they said they weld in stainless, so the welds don't rust. It takes a different setup though... ...or he was just feeding me a line of BS.

Gonna get dual exhaust on my 66 windsor...

Sadly, another reason to buy from Waldron's or TTI - they use the bend cards and/or have created their own systems to consistently turn out a bolt on quality product. I'm sorry you have had to go through this. I know that Midas Canada has the bend cards available. If there's a Midas near...

Gonna get dual exhaust on my 66 windsor...

I dunno - a lawyer for work of that value is pointless. These days, ya pays yer money and ya takes yer chances. You do have some options though: If it's an independent shop, the speak to the owner and express your dissatisfaction. A social media campain might hurt them to the point of...
