I agree,the tailgate damage looks recent. Sitting inside since 1970. Post cars fair much better than hardtop cars in side impacts

That's what I had heard about the repop gaskets. You have to modify them to work. Best to find a good original. I believe any 60-64 CPD gasket should work.
