You thought your $5,000.00 infotainment system was cool...

Don't jerk and drive, man. There's an ad campaign about that. http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2014/12/south-dakota-yanks-dont-jerk-drive-campaign.html

    rear seat belts

That designates lap and shoulder belts, not just lap belts.

    rear seat belts

I believe that 1967 was the first year of mandated rear seat belts ('66 was the first year of all-'round safety glass, if you're interested). When the OP downloads the manual, I'd love to know the answer. Were they optional?

    rear seat belts

Your best bet is going to be to buy a factory service manual (FSM). That will have locations for seat belts in it. It will also serve you well for many future projects. You can probably get an electronic version on eBay for about $40.

    New Seat Belts

I just edited this to remove a totally wrong post about how mine are crossed and that seems to make some sense. I decided just to look at the FSM. It's interesting for a couple reasons. First, not-crossed is proper for '67. Second is how little people cared about seatbelts in '67. The sum...

    Seatbelt Nuts: Captive?

That just removed the whole excuse for why I haven't fixed the routing on my belts. Thanks.

    Seatbelt Nuts: Captive?

Are the nuts that the seat belt bolts thread into captive? I.e. if I unbolt them from inside the car, do I have to have someone on the other side keeping them from turning or falling off?

    Lazy Power Window Motors

Yeah, Mr C's tutorial is what I used for the driver's window. It worked great. The symptom of that window was different, though: it wouldn't stay up, and the motor turned but no window movement. I figured I'd rebuild all of the other three motors with that system when I had them out. I also...

    Lazy Power Window Motors

The driver's window in my '67 Imperial works great. Unfortunately, that's the only one. My passenger front window and the driver's side rear are slow, with the driver's side rear slowing to the point of not closing for a while today. Can anyone go through the regular culprits on slow windows...

    New Seat Belts

Yes, exactly. On my car, the belt on the left side comes from the right side of the driveshaft tunnel, and vice versa. Also, because the buckle is the center belt, it's thick enough that I can't get it easily through the gap between the seat and the base. Is that how yours were set up...

    New Seat Belts

Do you have pictures of how the seat belts go from the anchors on the driveshaft tunnel thru/under the front seats? Mine seem to be weird, and I'd like to see another installation.

    New Seat Belts

Where did you get them? I see you put in center belts. Were the new mounting bolts adequately long to put double belts on the inside anchor points? I'd like to add center belts to my Imperial so I can put the baby seat in the middle, and still get two adults in on either side.

I didn't see a section on their website for c-bodies, so they probably don't have imperial stuff either, right?

    Wood Grain

Looks like it. I never met the guy, but another Imperialist in San Diego (with a '61 and '65, used to have a '67) knew him fairly well, and spoke very highly of him. Very smart, very meticulous, and very generous with his time. If I remember, his estate sold his car for $10k on eBay. Shame...

    Wood Grain

There's a series of pages up on the Online Imperial Club (imperialclub.org) by one of the old members who passed away a little while back. He did a complete ground-up resto on a '67 including working with the veneers. The site is down right now to have a server replaced, but you should check it...

    Car Stereo Mounting Ideas

Yep. And it will continue to leak until I pull the engine, or decide to put stop-leak in it (which always makes me feel like a half-assed troll when I think about it). But writing that comment made me realize the answer was obvious. It's not really a daily driver until all the mechanical bugs...

    Car Stereo Mounting Ideas

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm dealing with. Mostly what I'm going to do with the car is keep expenses down low enough that I don't have to justify its existence to anyone (my wife). I also don't want Commando coming in here and pointing out that my rear main seal still leaks, and I bought a...

    Car Stereo Mounting Ideas

That's kind of what I had in mind. Rather than on the trans hump (that sounds so dirty), I was thinking upside down, hanging from under the dash. I'm kind of torn, though. I just got off the phone with Bob's Radio and Television in Central California, who came recommended by several...
