    Carburetor Fuel Evaporation

Hi; Thanks for the input. No flooded hard start, no black smoke. Pour gas in the carb or use ether and it starts right up. Nothing comes out of the accelerator pump jets. Carb is an AFB, hard to have a leak in these. But I can try to find another one. Mark

    Carburetor Fuel Evaporation

I am scratching my head on this, suggestions welcome. I have a pretty severe fuel evaporation problem on my 65 Chrysler 300 (383). It is stock, mechanically refreshed, with the stock AFB four barrell that has been rebuilt, new fuel pump, fresh filter, replaced pump push rod. Overnight or even...

Changing seals on "Large TRW" power steering pump

My 2 cents, having done this twice. Good tutorial here, I'd add that the tool to remove the pulley is commonly on loan from the big box auto parts stores like O'Reileys. For the install if you don't have a press, clean the pulley and pump shaft mating surfaces thoroughly. Get a plumbers MAPP...

Cam swap worth it? '68 383 newport

Hello; I will leave the cam discussion to the many good posts, BUT. These heads have a casting restriction, reasonably easy to clean up, that is...

    ZDDP in engine oil

I can only comment on street use engines, but these folks who use a 15/xx or 20/xx oil make me cringe. The worst wear period for gas engines (except severe duty towing service, police, etc.) is cold startup. Its especially bad for limited use engines where the oil gets to drain off parts. The...

Steering Column Service (Session 210) from the Master Technician's Service Conference The Imperial Club scanned all of the dealer service training manuals and filmstrips. They are really handy for requests like this. Mark

    1966 Monaco 4 BBl conversion ( Camshaft ?)

Since you have it apart, why not add unleaded gas exhaust valve seats? Pretty common machine shop job, should not be too pricey. 383 heads have a casting hump restriction in the exhaust passage. Removing them is worth about 15 horsepower; the improvement is detailed in the Mopar Performance...
