Matt, I replaced my steel transmission lines with flex hose lines so it really doesn't affect mine. Most of these guys are more knowledgeable than I am so I would go with the 22" if that's what they recommend.

Have fun, let us know how the NSS swap works out. You might want to replace the wire as well as the switch. Sometimes those wires can become crappy due to the elements and age.
