    Brakes adjusted tight? Also, were the shoes "glazed" over? Can't remember if you did new shoes/drums. If I do new shoes, I usually break the glaze on the drum with sandpaper

    This is the best way I've always tuned, give it a shot?? 1. Set timing, 34 total @ 2500?? Where ever it falls, this will put initial to probably around 12 2. Get dwell meter, set to spec 3. Turn idle screws out 2 turns. Turn idle down to spec. ( 600 ish)? 4. Hook up vac gauge to manifold vac...

    Yes it does, I've probably only got 15 miles on it so far, rides/drives great so far. Tow truck driver had problems winching it because of weight

    Remember abestous! ( sp) work wet with a mask, I rebuilt my fronts and replaced my rears

    Put at tdc and check distributor rotor, see if pointing at #1

    Compression check would let you know if your gonna be busy doing a timing chain...hope not

    You try putting a wire from the + coil to the battery to check that idea? Check ign timing/firing order too

    Another thing to check, inspect battery cable by starter. I saw a crack in the insulation, turned out it was all corroded and insulation fell off on my 65
