    1968 BUDD 4-piston brakes - how to !

Funny thing that you talk about Corvette brakes. Just about every vette that came in for inspection had leaking or stuck calipers. A lot of customers were shell shocked at the cost of the repairs. Felt bad for them but they did own a vette so they should have expected big repair bills...

    Question about Torsion Bars

That's the beauty of Radial tires on our old boats. Get onto a bumpy or wavy road surface & it's going to grab every single one of the imperfections, hug it like it's your first new born child & try to take you places you don't want to go especially if you are on the opposite side of a crowned...

    Question about Torsion Bars

Mine were covered front to back in grease & oil. I must have gotten lucky that the PO's didn't remove any of it over the years. The torsion bars slid right out when I took the tension off the screws.

    Question about Torsion Bars

And everything in the rear is setup correctly? have to ask such as the hangers are correctly positioned. I've seen a few where the rear hanger gets bound up causing one to sit higher than the other. Barring this, then there's something going on in the front like the others have mentioned or...

    Question about Torsion Bars

Your rear leaf springs are in trouble if you have to adjust the screws to get it level like this. Wouldn't be surprised if you have a broken leaf...

New Repro Bendix Dual Diaphragm Brake Boosters Used on Some C Bodies & Other Models Circa 1970

Here’s a new twist on things for options. I bought this from National Moparts last fall and now have it installed It’s specifically sold for a B-E body Not stock looking by any means but I wasn’t concerned about that. when compared to the drum booster I had it gives about an additional 20%...

    Master Cylinder Bleeding Problem

I have found doing baby bumps of the piston while holding fingers over the ports help as well when bench bleeding. Have had more DOA out of the box than I care to think about as well since getting my Polara

    Steering Gear Removal.

You will need a pitman arm puller. Impact gun, and assorted wrenches Disconnect the hoses, then pull the pitman arm. Punch the drift pin off the steering knuckle and pry it loose. Lastly, 4 bolts later and it’s on your chest if you are underneath it when it drops out... The FSM is helpful as well

Geeesh another after market disc brake conversion question

One additional comment is to be sure to use proper vacuum hose, not fuel line!. It will likely collapse under braking once it is at under hood temperatures. I learned this the hard way when a local parts store sold me the fuel line claiming it worked great when it caused me to think I had a...

Geeesh another after market disc brake conversion question

Having reviewed this thread, I too did the 73 disc conversion a few years ago and used the drum booster up until now. my experience is that the drum booster works well if the vacuum is at peak suction when engine is cold. Also good if you can ease into brake application while driving. Quick...

    Brake lines...is there a difference?

Hi Leaburn, Can you take a few pictures of the gas tank vent line routing on your Newport? I am about to have the lines done on my Polara. I found the photos of you having made a pair up but not sure where they route in the trunk of the car. Tried to PM you but it won't allow me to... Thanks, Tom

Leaf Spring Sag, 1970 Fury Convertible

Not giving advice on the direction you should take since you seem to have all the advice you need. To add to the conversation, I had my springs rebuilt and ended up with an extra 1.5” high in the rear which I’m not a big fan of the look. Everyone has told me that in a couple of years that they...
