    Looking for suggestions 72 Imperial

I just recall that @MonacoBlue on this site had the Florida company rebuild the compressor on his Monaco Wagon and he had plenty of problems with it but I am not sure specifically what they all were after a couple years now, so you might contact him. Others have said their rebuilds do not...

    Looking for suggestions 72 Imperial

I too would suggest you read through all the discussions on this subject that have occurred in the past. Most of my opinions having worked on a few of these systems is to first make sure you have a good RV2 Chrysler compressor in the first place that doesn't have a lot of miles on it or an NOS...

Where to buy a heater core?

Are you saying the part was available in Germany for $400, or that buying it from the vendor I highlighted above in the U.S. plus shipping cost to Germany was that much combined? Either way, it sounds like a reasonable deal to me.......... I have shipped a lot of parts to friends in Europe...

Where to buy a heater core?

There is only one place where you will get the correct heater cores for your C bodies and there is an extensive discussion in this highlighted thread about this Ebay source. I am surprised that more didn't respond citing this lengthy discussion...

    Heater control valve disassembly

Why are you making this point? In either case, both were subject to cracking after about 2 years of normal use due to the use of bakelite plastic housings.

    Heater control valve disassembly

If you are driving one of these cars in the first place, you obviously do not have mpg as a serious concern. I would easily give up mpg to avoid the ugliness of such a styling turn off. The rest of the styling on those models was just excellent. The styling of the flat faced/straight up front...

    Heater control valve disassembly

I also took apart one of the factory heater control valves an sent the unit to a friend of mine here in California that also makes/fabricates the Autotemp II control units to see if he could also fabricate a replacement out of aluminum for the standard heater valve and he told me it would not be...

    Heater control valve disassembly

I fail to understand why anyone would put fender skirts on those models - the rear end ride height was borderline without them but with them it just looks like the car is overloaded in the trunk and is constipated, having difficulty taking a dump..........

    Heater control valve disassembly

This topic has been discussed in detail in this previous link: Heater Control Valve Idea

Lower the temp for next summer.

Since your car has add-on a/c I would estimate you have a 22" wide radiator, which is likely cause of the high temperatures in traffic during warm months. Chrysler even put that miserable radiator in cars with 440s and no a/c and it isn't even adequate for keeping the hot light off in traffic...

Opinions on converting from R12 to R134?

1234yf refrigerant is only mildly flammable and nothing near as flammable as some of the other alternatives out there.........................and then we also have EV batteries that can catch fire and are really hard to put out if they do....................another case of the benefits...

Opinions on converting from R12 to R134?

Good point. I guess because there are so many older collectible vehicles here in California, there are plenty of shops still around that keep their R12 machines and will even sell you R12 to keep those cars going, but at a price. So there are some positives for large population centers but...

And the evaporator doesn't freeze up??

Opinions on converting from R12 to R134?

The reason vehicle manufacturers don't use the Duracool type refrigerants is because they are flammable. If and when you get into an accident one doesn't need any other problems besides what they already have. If you live in Canada, I guess an accident is less likely than when you live in a...

Opinions on converting from R12 to R134?

If you are going to keep the original RV2 compressor, the real issue is where to find a good "rebuilt" one (it seems quality rebuild parts for the RV2s are not available despite some of the claims). No one that I have heard of yet has found a solution to this problem and the higher operating...

    Radiator Overheat.

The radiator isn't doing its job if it hits 215F (assuming that is an accurate temperature reading) after 20 minutes of idling. What did you pay for the radiator and what are its dimensions overall and number of rows of tubes?

    Replacement underhood ATC module

All 1971 - 1973 C Bodies have the Autotemp II system, and the one cited above by @Imperial Pete or the one cited by me named Chris. Either one should work fine.

    Replacement underhood ATC module

Yes, he is indeed. He knows the ins and outs of these controllers very well and has improved the ones he builds compared to the other alternative he claims. I will give one a try in the near future. Personally, though, I have had no issues with the other one on the market either though.

    Replacement underhood ATC module

There is also a gentleman who resides in California that remanufacturers them as well - both have their advantages and while I have used Performance Analysis Company with good results there is this alternative as well. You can discuss with him his remanufactured controller for comparison. I...

Exact Replacement A/C Components Now Becoming Available for Our C bodies

I just wanted to add that I feel that one way to know the character of a company such as @CoolerClassics and its owner is who they themselves do business with. As such, I also want to tout the capabilities of Mr. Heater Box also as a first rate and very capable Chrysler (including C bodies)...
