    It is a 6V negative ground system? I had a 48 Desoto and it was a 6V positive ground system, I rewired the entire car from front to back with a universal 12V system...what a PITA, would not want to do that again! I had to use a couple voltage drop sinks for the blower motor on the heater and...

    I had a 48 Desoto 2dr Sedan and it was a 6V positive ground system....sheesh! I tore out the wiring and completely rewired the entire car to a 12V negative ground system....that was a big job on a simple car, and don't think I'd want to rewire anything newer then that. ;)

    Having restored and owned a 68 Coronet convertible I did discover i am not a convertible guy....solid steel roof over my head thank you very much. ;) That is a beautiful long roof that is for sure, love the swing out drivers seat...so cool!!

    Think your Dad's old Desoto may have been a 57 Desoto Firesweep..although I can't make out the large eyebrow chrome on the front headlights.

    I would grab all the fury roof and any other parts you think you might need now before those parts either disappear or the car gets crushed. I think that would be a super cool mod though!!

    Good eye....I think those are only 4 hole valve covers, you can see the ends of them in the pic of the six pack carb and air cleaner and I can't make out any bolt holes. :(

    Towing help with a barn find....

    I too have hauled many a vehicle up onto trailers with nothing more then a few lengths of chain, and a 2 ton chain come-a-long. Might be slow, but ALWAYS gets the vehicle up and on the trailer. ;) This is my most recent loading secession....
