    hemi or not to hemi

So is a 300C and they run a 2.82 rear gear. To be fair the NAG1 trans has a 3.59 1st gear for a starting line ratio of 10ish:1. With a 727 you would have to run a 4.10 to be equivalent, no bueno on the freeway. A 518/46RH will give you a similar 10:1 overall 1st and a 2.829 overall in OD...

    1973 Plymouth Fury

Those Holley 2 barrel carbs were junk from new. If I was going to put any effort into rebuilding a carb and fuel economy was a concern, I'd be doing a Thermoquad and changing the intake manifold accordingly. Driven with fuel economy in mind, they will always do better than a 2 barrel and really...

    Engineering a windshield solvent reservoir

I forget what car I pirated the one for my 66 from but it mounted flat to the rad support. I buzzed a couple of self tappers through the mounting tabs where it sat nice on my rad support, front side if memory serves and used a parts store universal washer pump. Kevin

    69 fury with disk brakes

Budd discs were done in 68, at least on a Cbody. 69 to early 72 use the smaller wheel bearing and if original, 2 piece rotors. Late 72 and 73 use the bigger bearings and unicast 1 piece rotors. They apparently make unicast rotors for the 2 piece application now that are much more reasonably...

1970 Plymouth Sport Fury V10 Swap Build Thread

I would start with bigger T-bars and a bigger front sway bar first and see how it behaves. It might not need a rear bar depending on how you drive it and if you do need a rear bar you have to be careful with sizing because it can really make the car tail happy. Kevin

Where Do You Guys Get New Replacement Brake Rotors for the 69 - 72 Fuselage C Bodies?

You do realize that the reason you pay more (usually a lot more) for the lifetime guarantee is you are paying for the replacement up front. Kevin

    Destroyed a driveline

Not pulling the trans apart to inspect the sprag after a driveline/diff failure from a launch is no no. The trans can seem to operate OK with a wounded sprag but could let go the next time you launch it. Kevin

    Destroyed a driveline

A lot of people mistakenly think those drum failures are horsepower related when in fact all it takes to blow one up is an engine's ability to free rev past 5000 RPM. A stone stock /6 is capable of that. A couple of things you should NEVER do with a 727 are big waterbox burnouts at a dragstrip...

    Destroyed a driveline

Check the tail shaft housing to make sure you didn't break it. Park SHOULD have engaged once you shut the engine off. If it's making noise after you restart it in Park, check to see if the output shaft is turning. If it isn't, I would suspect you have taken out the overrunning clutch or sprag...

400 has the same stroke as a 383. A 4.25" stroke 440Source kit will help it pull those 2.76's with some authority. LOVE the color. In 1976 I had a 73 Newport Custom 2 door hard top in Regal Blue. Kevin

Did I get a good deal? payed $1500

If it has a 727 in it now, the original driveshaft will be good to go. BB and Small Block 727 are the same dimensions. If it turns out to have a 904, you'll have either shorten the driveshaft and change the slip yoke or find a C body 727 specific shaft. As to the question, is it worth it...

    Drive line upgrade

I had 275's on my 66 on 15x8 with 4" BS. They were close on the skirt but no trimming required. Lots of room on the inside so 4.5 BS would have been perfect. Kevin
