Windshield wiper plastic piece broken for 1978 Chrysler New Yorker

According to Roseville who is a Chrysler dealer, the red one fits all platforms in 78. Whether that's accurate, I know. They don't have stock but Van's show it available. Wiper Linkage Cam Bushing Set 75-79 All Bodies. | Roseville Moparts Windshield Wiper Link Bushings 1975 - 1979 Chrysler...

Age old question - Fuel or Spark?

I think that is deliberately programmed into the page. No way that EVERY time it jumps, it lands on an ad link. Kevin

Age old question - Fuel or Spark?

Check the connection on the back of the ammeter. My Dad bought a new 75 Gran Fury that seemed to eat alternators/regulators after it was a few years old. He converted it back to a mechanical regulator and all the problems stopped. Fast forward a few more years when he had the cluster out for...

Want to wake up my 73 Newport Custom

Are you sure that's an 8.25 diff? My 73 had a 9.25 and that is all I have ever seen under a late Cbody. To finish waking up your 400, get the distributor recurved if you haven't already. This is assuming it's the stock one. You will need to limit the advance travel by having the slots in the...

Wiper bushing kit!! Formal owners rejoice!

The one I had was red I thought and now that I think about it, it was one I bought from an individual that was making molds of them himself. Whatever he was making them out of wasn't up to the task but the quality of the molded part was excellent. I'll just delete that post. Kevin

    Calling anyone in Alberta

You probably can't do it yourself but if you use a Common Carrier for transportation and a Customs Broker to import it, it's just freight. Trade and transportation are considered essential. US to Canada requires a copy of the Title be sent to US Customs 72 hours before arrival with the...

    Brake Refresh - 74 Fury

If it was still functioning correctly, I would have just vacuumed/pumped the fluid out of it if there was any serious accumulation and then hosed it down with a can of Brakekleen and buttoned it up. Kevin

    EFI in '77 Chrysler Newport

Just advancing the stock cam 4 degrees will really wake up the bottom end response. The advertised compression ratio was 8:1ish when it was actually barely in the high 7:1 range which is the real reason the smog motor is such a dog moreso than the camshaft. The stock TQ intake will flow well...

    towing with formal

Lol. I'm 60 and my buddy is 68. Towing with a chain is pretty easy. Just keep the chain tight. That means the guy getting towed is in charge of the brakes for the usual stop signs and corners and the guy in front does the hand signals just in case the guy in back misses something. It works...

    towing with formal

No sense of adventure lol. In 1979 or 80 I flat towed a 64 Polara from Pierson Manitoba to Weyburn Saskatchewan on the end of a chain behind a 65 F100 with a very healthy 429. That's 135 miles and I was in the 64 and my buddy was towing me. We were cruising along at about 65 or 70 when this...

    towing with formal

If your formal has a proper frame mount hitch on it, I wouldn't hesitate to haul that 20 miles on a good dolly. Obviously with no brakes to slow the extra 4000+ lbs, concessions to the laws of physics need to be made re speed and stopping distance but the drive train is more than up to the...

    Windshield wiper bushing cast

Those have been repopped at least twice that I know of. I bought one for my 79 R-body from a guy in Ohio that was using silicone molds like the guy doing the 300 lenses is. Cost was $90 IIRC. The part was perfect, couldn't tell it from original appearance wise. The plastic he used alas was not...

    Any ideas on breaks ?

Disc brakes by their nature have a lot of drag at rest. The pistons don't retract. When going down the road the few thou of end play in the wheel bearings allow the rotor and hub to move enough to push them back and make clearance. Kevin
