NOT MINE 67 Imperial Crown Coupe Palm Springs $8000

Yeah Matt but you'll keep vacuuming until you're sitting on seat springs.

    TQ piston screw setup

There is an eccentric on the primary throttle shaft that acts on the bottom of that adjustment. It makes sure that if the primary throttle blades are open a lot, but the vacuum is high, the metering rods are pushed up to make sure the engine doesn't go lean, even though it has a lot of vacuum...

Dial those wheels back to 17" and I could live with them.

Yes I can what? I probably wouldn't put them on my Monacos, but I'd roll this car just like it is. A torque thrust wheel will always be fine for me, even a 20". I'd rather go with a 17" or 18" if I couldn't find anything I like in 15's.

    tailpipe puking fresh oil update

On the exhaust side of things, some engines in the middle 1970s did not use exhaust valve stem seals. Why? There is more positive pressure in the exhaust port than negative pressure. On the intake side, most usually vacuum. If you saw a puff of oil smoke on initial start-up, but then cleared...

    tailpipe puking fresh oil update

and I thought I was having a bad day...if those are stock "umbrella seals " they don't attach to the head, they just slide up the valve stem and attempt to deflect the majority of oil splash from the guide...machine shops may or may not cut the top of the valve guide boss to use aftermarket...

That sucks. What was the reason for the stem seal boots to have lifted?

fresh oil out of the tailpipe

new post today, to update this one. it may be hard for some to imagine, but before i tore it down, it ran like a scalded dog. 1 mile up a 10% grade, at 90mph: super powerful but that 1 mile cost a quart of oil.

Younger people? 20" wheels are pretty common today, I have them on the Charger, and how many half ton trucks have them, from the factory? It ain't just a certain demographic that likes them.

    tailpipe puking fresh oil update

i have discovered all 8 exhaust valve stem seal boots have lifted up from their seats & #5 cyl has a failed piston ring, evidenced by damage to cylinder wall. most of oil loss, however, was coming from passenger bank.

    Rare 1972 Imperial restoration!

YM43T3C264445 Axle packages are A31-A36 codes. No way to tell what diff it has from the fender tag. However, I would suspect the car has a broadcast sheet under the seat/seats and that would tell you what the axle would be. Try under the rear seat as it's the easiest to remove.

    Rare 1972 Imperial restoration!

Well. I picked the 73 up today. And she’s rough but the good parts are really good and the bad parts are really bad so to speak.. (side note is there anyway to tell if it has suregrip from the fender tag?)
