FB so no pics from me ! Forgive my ignorance but I assume a manual version of this car is rare ? hence the price, or is it just the 300L tag ?

I assume the fuel tank and sender were fixed? I don't know how many L's had the four speed but they come up from time to time.

@coco -- I am not on FB either but I can access the photos for this ad. Here goes. Fender tag, too!

@300L @Ripinator @LocuMob @Big_John @hergfest @Kevin Mulholland @Torky @chippers65300 @PH27L7 @Dick Landy @69CoronetRT @fury fan and many others will be interested.

Dig those vintage Shasta trailers in the background, my winter project this year is a 70 Rambler trailer to go with my 67 Newport.

They match the house too!

I really like the car. There's a few things, like the front seats, that need attention. Wrong color engine too. The magazine article, assuming it is this car, shows it to be an ex-Don Rook car. If it is, it's put on 30K miles since 2001.

I think the $25k is a decent price. You might get it cheaper. I'm not in the market myself, I would look into this one if I was.

call me crazy i never liked a 4-speed in a c-body. a or b body yes. felt like a whale and very rough not smooth like the 727.

I used to own this car. Is pretty crusty underneath and has some rust in the drivers rocker. Legit 67k orig miles though.

Ironically, some years ago I got tasked to drive a 65 or 66 GTO 4-speed home from a car show to the owner's house.
During the drive I was constantly comparing it to my 65 SF 4-speed, and not being impressed by the GTO.
I babied the GTO most of the way and found it not very pleasant to drive. It didn't drive as well and the seating/brake pedal were not as good.

About a mile from the destination, I decided to open it up a and see what it had (but still being respectful that it was not my car).
At perhaps 3000rpm, it became a completely different car - obviously happier to be driven that way, and noticeably faster than my Fury (389 tri-power vs 383-4).

But for general driving, which is 95% of what we do, the Fury is a vastly smoother and more comfortable car to drive. A much more-refined car.
As smooth as a 727? It'll always be different, but smoothness depends on how you drive it.
