aa ya no one is gonna miss the panel Stan! the seller is forthright and declares it in the pics. Could be a hunch but that is what the other 66 is for,after all that's why the quarters are gone cause it's a vert, that was exposed to the elements.6500 is lofty but I would start hi also,betting he would take less. It is a C body convertible, with the orig. 440,not the oft seen 383.
 
No such thing as a numbers matching engine in '66. I hate it when people say that.

pretty common nowadays like "ran when parked",none the less, orig. motor/trans,way better than a transplanted 77 440 out of an r.v. and the 66 twin snorkel looks good on top.
 
'68 was when they started putting VIN numbers on drivetrain components. On a pre-68 car, the only way you'll be able to say your car is "numbers matching" is by verifying casting/part numbers and dates, and some people don't consider that method to be the intent of "numbers matching". I'm on the fence myself....
