With a green firewall and F8 on the tag? I don't think so! He says green in the descr but clearly trying to make $$ from the hurst paint scheme.

Underneath that hack job is a very early build. August 4 1969, and 628 in the order number, that's got to be one of the first 1970 300 verts off the line.

Looks like a 1970 300 convertible to me with broken/damaged Hurst pieces which do the car no good. Now the buyer has to either fix those pieces, source new ones (right), or find OEM pieces. Good luck...

Interesting car in it's own right, but I'd rather pay $100K for the real deal, 1 of 1 Hurst Convertible!

Lot's of bondo in that one. Big hunk of it coming off the fender and you can see the bubble in the rear quarter. Typical failures of the Hurst hood and deck lid.

Nicely optioned car though! Tilt wheel etc. Someone actually spent some time and money at one time to make a clone.

I have nowhere near the experience or eye for detail as a lot of members here....and even I can tell that's a hack job!

I don't know if I'd call it a hack job. Judging from the pictures, the attention to detail on the paint looks pretty decent. I think the level of execution on the bodywork is pretty typical of the 70's and 80's. We expect more now and generally speaking, are willing to pay more for quality work. Paint has also become so expensive that the days of doing this type of work and expecting to redo it again in five years are gone. There was a time where this was what your "restoration" dollar bought you.

I did a little digging on the intrawebs and I found a bunch of pictures of what I think was this car back in its heyday. It looked pretty good. I think it got ignored for a while and you have the end result.

This is bad bodywork... even for then. But it's still typical of a lot of shops. The bondo is cracked on top of this fender and there is a bubble on the quarter from the bondo starting to lift.

In all seriousness, if this car is not too rusty, and this is previous damage, it's not going to be an "above and beyond" restoration. The hood and deck lid repairs are done all the time on these cars.

I do think the price is too high... by at least half if not more, but that's another story. Buy the car for $4k. Put $20 k in bodywork, maybe another $5k in incidentals and you could have an interesting 300H vert clone.

I get what you're saying....but it's still a hack job from my POV. Maybe "half-assed" is a better term. And the dealer is trying to pass this off as a "Hurst Upgrade" - pass

I hope a real Hurst didn't die to produce this one. Does anyone make reproduction Hurst parts to clone one?

I think you'd be surprised at the amount of 300 H stuff floating around out there. When I bought my 300 vert, it came with some spares, including a gold striped grille and some rusty(but fixable) white and gold fenders. I had the option of buying an original 'glass hood and deck lid if I was interested in building a clone 300H vert. I passed.

I know of a couple of them that were rusted up past realistic salvage and were stripped of usable parts.
