I’m going through the various white interior trim pieces and finding out a lot is discolored. A few years ago I bought a can of Herb’s paint, #200 white and decided to try it out. Just getting to spray it now and wow, this stuff is spot on. I have a few excellent original parts and the paint matches perfectly. Now I need at least 4 more cans of it.

Question, is the interior trim color Spinnaker White like the white on the Hurst cars? It is certainly not bright white. I can’t find the interior trim color code in any of the paint books I have. The reason I ask is I need to jam in part of the door since I’m going with the white interior. According to the assembly book, white or black is used with white or black interior. I assumed mine would have been black, but there is no evidence of it, but the TX9 has it in white. A quick comparison of the trim and the door looks close, but Herb’s is matte finish and I need gloss.

BTW, I’ve only seen two Chryslers with the trimmed out door, my TX9, and a B7 in a for sale ad. Maybe it was eliminated mid model year to save some money. The TX9 is October ‘69 and the vert is June 70. it is a detail I don’t see and I have been looking.

When I was doing the initial clean-up of my Pearl White '67 Newport bucket seats, I noticed some discolored/dingy/body oil dirty looking edges of the top of the seat back cushion. No cleaner would clean it off!! THEN it occurred to me that this was the PEARL coating ageing and discoloring the OEM basic white vinyl on the seats. As everything else was OEM-production, I did not desire to replace it all, so it is still there.

As with all Chrysler color codes back then, there is a coat of pearl on top of the basic color, which gives it that "better looking" , somewhat metallic, appearance than just the basic colors which Chrysler used until the 1974 model year.

Just my experiences,

Yea, the pearl white on my front seats in my 300L had faded. They kind of end up goldish tint and it's really obvious if you know what you are looking at or worse when compared to non-faded pearl white. When the pearl is right, it's really nice and adds a lot to the interior appearance.

I think the pearl last year was 1966(??), before his '70 300.

Thanks, I didn’t think to look on the back of the color chart pages. I don’t detect any evidence of Pearl coating on the seats or trim, it’s a matte off white. Question is, is it Dove or Ivory white. I’m thinking ivory. As for the door jams, I’d venture to guess that it is Spinnaker since it is on the body.

@Big_John messages cleared, thanks!
