The wheels or covers are hideous.

The overall car is rather classy looking in that color combo.

Definitely a Salon with that Imperial window plug. No pinstriping indicates a repaint. Driver's seat appears to have hauled around a heavy owner. WallyWorld wheel covers detract tremendously from the car's appearance. Looks pretty straight. With not knowing if the one-year-only Salon wheels are under the caps, or if the rings, centers and turbines are present at all, those are expensive to piece together - ask me how I know.

I imagined whoever had it let the wheels go, because somebody made him a great offer.

Like you said, getting another set together would be expensive and quite a chore.
