Good evening folks, the time has come to move Ginger along. No particular circumstance promoted it, just reality of not really being able to spend the time or money on her that she deserves. I'm confident and hopeful that someone on here can continue my venture.
$4,000 is my jump off point. Negotiable, of course, That doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of the absurd amount of money I've spent on her over the past 6 years I've had her. But isn't that always the case, you end up spending more on them did you ever get back. But I don't do it for any profit. I've always done it for the enjoyment and the thrill of the search / hunt and success and joy it brings me putting something back on the road that otherwise may not have had a chance. Just a quick rundown on history, it started for me in September 2018 when there was discussion on the forum about favorites Cbody colors and options, a picture was posted of Ginger, and when I saw her, I knew I had to at least try to find and even purchase her if possible.. With help of some dedicated members here I was able to make contact with the owner out in Las Vegas where the car was and made a deal. By January 2019, she was in my driveway and the fun begin. To say I've spent an absurd amount of money on her is an understatement, at least by my standards. And I absolutely think that she is worth the continuation to bring her back to what she was 47 years ago.
To go through all the details is really too much to type. But PM me and we'll exchange contact info and I'll give you the down and dirty from start to finish. But just for some quick info, she runs and drives and tracks straight down the highway she should, and I would drive her anywhere with no concerns. A lot of you have seen me at Carlisle every year with her. She has the usual rust in the usual spots originally a Pennsylvania car for most of her early years, bottoms of both front fenders, both dog legs, both trunk extensions, and both corners of the rear window Dutchman panel. But don't let that scare you.. because I clean OE metal to replace all that is bad. Thanks to Murray Parks..
All of the mechanicals attention have been going through from front to back, all front suspension, powder, coated and new bushings. Rear end disassembled powder coated and reassembled with new parts from Dr. Diff and rear suspension parts from Springs and things. The pillow top seats redone in the white leather about three years ago, I have 9 yards of vinyl top material, and 9 yards of headliner material from SMS. I have a new carpet and containers full of extra and spare parts. The ATCII system does work, but does not currently due to a small vacuum leak recently occurred in the system behind the glove box. Also, the AC system is discharged because I had the compressor off while doing clean up under the hood and never recharged. All brand new stereo and speaker components new in the box. I had the original 8 track unit sent out and converted to Aurora digital by Barry's 8 track out in Arizona. Not installed still in the box from Barry. Look him up. He does phenomenal work.
So really it's just body and paint. Which we all know can get pricey if you're farming that work out. But as I stated earlier, in my opinion, she was absolutely worth the effort. I haven't posted her for sale on any other website, as I want the crew here to have first dibs, which would add some comfort for me knowing that she'd be well cared for. If there are no bites in a reasonable amount of time, then I'll post her on other websites.
So reach out and let's chat. Thanks for taking the time to read.

Regards, John

Deal in the works.. certainly sad to see her go, but after talks, she is certainly going to a good home. Won’t get into any details without the new owners permission. But I’m very pleased to say the least. Excited to see her journey continue.

I have not seen too many 4 door sunroof cars. Wish I could see a few more. Did the car sale.

Well, it’s a done deal, Ginger left Sunday for her new home. And oddly enough after 47 years, she’s gone full circle back to where she was bought brand new. And after talking to the new owner, he knows the son of the original owner. It’s really a great story. I’m happy she’ll get to continued attention she deserves. And he and I also made a gentleman‘s agreement on first right of refusal. Should he ever decide to part with her. But we’ll see.

Wonderful, way to go!

As a memory, here’s Ginger at Carlisle last year. One photo was taken after dinner during the show, and the other after breakfast on the last day together with two of her fuselage cousins (Buttercup, my 1972 NYB and Ming, my 1973 NYB).

Indeed, that was our last time all together. Here’s his 1970 TNT ‘vert leading our caravan to breakfast that day.
