Your dream boat has just docked! A bit beyond my resources and willingness to restore, so cutting it from the fleet.
A truly amazing car that runs and drives, and has been used locally up until we got it. 63 Imperial Crown 2-door hardtop. Only 1015 of these were built in 63, and this is a good example of an intact car with all the options available at the time. Sweet running 413 and pushbutton 727, power steering, power brakes that will throw you through the windshield, power windows, power antenna, self searching AM radio, air conditioning, power seat, full black leather interior with front and rear fold down arm rests, dual outside chrome mirrors. Most of them that I have seen had a vinyl top of some kind but this one has never had one. New tires with very little miles on them.
Interior is useable as-is but is showing some wear fom being nearly 50 years old. Dash is in nice shape with 1 nearly undetectable crack starting. All the gauges and lights in the dash work correctly including the electroluminescent backlighting and red band speedometer. Radio will tune itself searching for a station and you can catch a baseball game here and there on it. Antenna goes up and down with the control on the dash, and most of the windows work. All the glass seems to be original and in good condition. Air conditiong system is intact, compressor is free and turns, looks like one of the hoses has been replaced. Never tried the a/c and assume its out of freon, but would work with a charge. Has not been eaten up by rodents and everything under the hood and dash is intact and original, other than normal maintenance and tune up pieces. Has had a cooling system heater added inline with a heater hose. There is only 1 small spot on the lower edge of the front right fender that has any signs of rust, and you could hide it with a quarter. Floors and frame are solid as a rock. Trunk floor has some surface rust, but no rust through. Bumpers are in surprisingly good condition and all the chrome trim could be outstanding with little effort. Does show obvious signs of right quarter panel work decades ago, but looks like its more of a poor body work situation than extensive damage. Will need a complete repaint to be perfect, but would be an easy job overall. Will need a left front fender chrome corner piece thats common to all 63's and a right quarter trim piece. All lenses are in great shape for its age. Has had some exhaust work done recently and needs nothing there.
Overall this is a very intact example of Chrysler luxury at its finest. Can be driven as is, or with a little TLC and a repaint could be a show stopper.
