The Salon looks to be very solid, these came loaded and with limited production, seems a shame to use it as a parts car: 1964 Chrysler New Yorker · Station wagon

Yeah but your not going to find a 50 year old interior anywhere that doesn't need to be redone. An AZ car might have 10 cracks in the dash while a back east one only has 5 but the dash still needs to be replaced. Now do you want to talk about suspension work or exhaust work? Snapping rusty bolts? Rarely happens in AZ. I spent 23 years in NY and now 46 years in AZ so I know from experience, Give me a southwestern car to restore any day!

Nearly 53 years later, this one looks pretty good... Colorado car, now in Oz.

You're comparing a survivor to a project car. That car didn't sit outside in CO for 53 years. It was taken care of. If you care for and garage an Arizona car it will look the same.
