Ok, so here's the thing.
I have a 67 Newport with a stock 383 that I've been driving daily for the past year, I hopped in one morning and started her to warm up. It ran for about a minute before I noticed my idiot light was on, so I checked my little mechanical gauge which also said "Hey, there's no damn oil flowing!"
I didn't hear any knocking or tapping, but I shut her off just to be safe. I waited a few minutes and tried again, and that's when the valve tap started. I shut it down and haven't run it since.
I have a few theories as to what it could be, like a worn cam gear being the least likely and a stuck oil pressure relief spring which seems to make more sense to me.
Any suggestions before I start tearing my engine apart?
