69 Chrysler 300 back on the road! I should call it the Chrysler $30000. lol

Thanks to all the Forum Members that offered their help and photos to all my questions.

Bought the car this past Dec. (2021), it was drivable with 100,000 miles on it but was in need of some mechanical TLC.
I towed it home, drove it around the block twice and tore it apart.

Body is solid with some surface rust, there is one bad spot around the back window under the vinyl roof. I’m leaving the body as is, scratches, patina, etc.. It’s a very original car, engine, transmission, alternator (still working after 52 years), differential, wheels, wheel covers, interior, etc..

New fuel tank, fuel lines.
New shocks, tires, HD wheels & Poverty Caps.
New Firm Feel Stage II Steering Box.
Original 440ci rebuilt, is now a 505ci with HP exhaust manifolds and TTI 2.5” dual exhaust.
Original radiator overhauled by Glen-Ray Radiators.
Original alternator, rebuilt/overhauled.
Original transmission rebuilt, shift kit, HD internals.
Original 2.76 Open diff. converted to a 3.23 Sure Grip.
Front seat bottoms recovered in original material. Some interior plastic panels replaced or repainted.
New carpet installed.

Nice 300. Think my brother and I are going to do the body work and some mechanicals on my 69 Newport this winter. I didn't want to miss driving her this summer.

Very nice, original TNT engine? SEM sells a tan interior paint for the arm pads. Mike

Nice 300. How is the Firm Feel steering gear working out?

I used SEM on some of the interior plastic, wasn't impressed in that it peels off very easily. Yes, I followed the directions and tried multiple ways to make the paint stick better.
Not a first world problem, the car is a Road Pig not a Concours.

I like it so far, no problems. I prefer for steering to have some "feel" to it.
The old steering box had a dead zone from 11:00 - 01:00 on the steering wheel with no input to the wheels, virtually no feedback at all. Like Super Power Steering.

Rustoleum Satin Nutmeg, shown at right....at your friendly Home Depot...is your friend.
