Do roof lines differ for Sport Fury and Fury Gran Coupe?
I cannot seem to figure out a pattern on what the roof-lines are, its just some I like better than others but it seems to vary from car to car

I don't think there is a difference between the 70 and 71 with the roof line, but the trim is a little different I believe between the two. The Black fury is a GT. I went a step further and put the two picture over each other (one semi-transparent) and they seem to be the same and lined up exact. Then again, I might be wrong!!

The 1970 and 1971 Gran Coupe two-door could only be had with the 29 body style roof, basically the same as the four-door hardtop roof with the concave rear window. The 1970 Gran Coupe was only available with "B"-pillar, the 1971 Gran Coupe only without.

For 1971, a four-door hardtop Gran Coupe was also available.

The regular 1970 and 1971 Fury two-door hardtops could either have the 29 body style roof or the more sporty looking 23 body style roof (which is pictured in the post above).

ok so within each years the 2 doors had 2 types- 29 and 23, with the 23 being sportier.

i have been looking to buy a 70 or 71 sport fury and i thought i was going crazy as some looked slightly different than others

There you go.

From my gut feeling I'd say there are more 1970/1971 29-style roof Fury two-doors out there than have the 23-style roof. I can only assume that Chevrolet started a trend with their more formal looking (read: pricier) Caprice two-door roof line a few years earlier.

Admittedly, production figures say the opposite. Through the three model years from 1969 until 1971 the 23 body saw 125,884 copies, while the 29 formal roof two-door body was made only 72,443 times (plus some 21,316 of the 1970 Fury II two-door coupes including the paisley Gran Coupe, which featured a "B"-pillar).
