I have never been a big fan of the original design on the tail lamps for the '71s -- I thought I would post my redesigns for your enjoyment. I had several sets of lenses and bezels to play around with, so these depictions are real set-ups and not photoshopped.

I was stuck on the back-up lens delete look, but ended up liking the lenses better as original. Finally decided on bezels without the 'partitions' so I took a die grinder to them. The end result (last pic) is a much cleaner look more reminiscent of the 1970 Fury's.

l wasn't realy a fan of them but that was just from a pic...imagine these are pretty distinctive at night and they do have more character than the 70s all be it the 70s are a cleaner look...have also been throwing around the idea of sequential light set up..may work for these lights...anyway have found two NOS rear setups so am gona go with that for now...keep the pics comein...don't feel shy about throwing a couple of the car in here....

So shiny bumper. I like 70 looks. Wide and clean. 71 was like must figure something, so it dont look 70, but cant use much $ because its last year.

I was actually looking into doing the sequential thing on mine with the back-up delete lenses, thought it would be pretty cool. But, it was getting into more money that I wanted to spend.

Yes, '70 front ends with hideaways were MUCH cleaner and sharper than the '71s. The '71 hideaway grille is much too fussy.

l agree..70s had nicer grill...if l could get away with it would throw the 70 grill l have sittin in next room on the 71....hell woulda thrown 70 front hood on there to....in my heart l wanted a 70 but alas was delt a 71...no complaints
