I have a 77 Newport donor and would like to swap the front disc brakes to my 69 Fury. I have seen a lot of info about the spindles, but only to about 73.

Both cars have 15" wheels so I am not worried about that.

My question is, could I separate the knuckle from the lower control arm and disconnect the upper arm from the chassis and swap the entire assembly?

The Newport is power brakes and the Fury has manual. Do I need to mover the proportioning valve from the Newport as well?

Thank you for all of your sage wisdom and advice!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but: No can do.
The absolute the best you can do with the Newport stuff is use the calipers on '73 only spindles. Nothing you can do to modify the Newport setup to your 69.
Many have asked this before.
Kind of a moot point anyway in as much as new 73+ calipers are very cheap.

I appreciate you patience and answers.

Is it a problem of the knuckle arm/lower ball joint assembly from the Newport not being unable to bolt to the lower control arm of the 69?

A most oft asked question. The simple answer is yes, there is a problem basically with the dimensions and the geometry.
I saw one really modified attempt but it looked danderous to most that looked at it.
